Would have been great if you explained a little what's going on with the MIDI switching and how to set it up and use it... now it's just a rather pointless sound demo and we see you stepping on a button and that's it.
Cool video, but just one question: What's going on when you switch to channel 2? There's a weird artifact or some kind of eq shift, almost like an auto wah coming on at 1:31 shortly after you switch to ch. 2. Pickup switch maybe?
The guitar is a Schecter C1 Special Prototype, originally came with 2xP90s, I've replaced both, neck is a Häussel P90s, Bridge is a BBQ Babybucker (which fits into the P90s cavity).
Microphones are a Shure SM57 and a Superlux soandso (generic) into a Mackie thru Firewire into Quicktime on a Mac.
The VH4 does not come with a Footswitch, any midi pedal will work though. I myself prefer those who run off phantom power like Rolls, Nobels, Diezel.
@diezelgermany hi does the columbus need a power adapter if connecting to a vh4 head or do you just need to use the midi cord from amp to the columbus footswitch
@diezelgermany i have carvin v3 and rolls midibuddy mp128, how do i use phantom power for it? i use my pedal gate as a supply for my board... is there another way to run this without a power supply??? please help!
Dude - if you still want one and you live in Europe I have one which is practically new (with El34s and a case) and I am ready to sell it. Just post me if you are interested.
Haha, that's great lol. As far as "The Megashaft"'s comment, I live in the US. I'm not looking to buy right now anyway, just looking for the price, so I can buy in the future ya know?
Thank God, someone finally knows how to mic a cabinet and made a great demo. Everyone else needs to look at his mic setup and learn something. Great Demo!
Chinese STR EL34s. Since I'm playing at room level, the master is up (10 o'clock) and the channel vols are dimed. Gain full in channel 2, bright on, bass a bit dimed, middle and treble noon, presence full, depth noon.

Is that weird sound at 1:31 from switching to the bridge pickup? Sounds like an auto wah or strange mid shift.
cordanscedo 1 year ago
@cordanscedo : Yes, thats switching to the bridge and un-splitting the bridge, also YT compression increases the "weirdness".

@diezelgermany Ah, I see. Awesome demo by the way! Sounds great.:)

Hey diezel germany if you use the vh4's powersection with the axe fx as a preamp and use the vh4 model of the axe fx how accurate is the sound?

in my opinion diezel amps are the best of course there are some boutic amps which might be better but they're also more expensive
the clean channel of every diezel is good for anything jazz blues funk whatever
and the distortion channels also kick ass
forget every marshall diezel ftw
maxmock 2 years ago
Nice tone! Always wanted a Diezel VH4. Can it be used in a standard jazz setting.

Sounds beautiful, anyone know what the range of pricing is on Diezel? I haven't found any dealers anywhere, that is if there are any dealers.
DiminishedFaith 2 years ago
diezel are one of the most expensive amp brands in the world(also one of the best, lol)
but they are around the 2.5k/3k (euro's!)
for a head only
but its a 180 watt and it will last you a lifetime
mitzdaking 2 years ago
That's what I would have expected to pay, I just wasn't quite sure, thanks.
Also do you know of any dealers?
