Hii, I live in a country that is usually never sunny. In Holland we have either rainy or cloudy weather most of the times. Do I have to use sunscreen everyday? thank you
its actually because the sunscreen is non-comedogenic so it wont clog your pores that why you don't break out. i use the SPF 30 everyday i just apply it with a stippling brush
I have neutrogena's ultra sheer on right now...but i just read that it has oxybenzone which can cause cancer...but then again most sunscreens have oxybenzone!
Oxybenzone hasn't been proven to cause cancer. On lab tests done on animals, it has proven to damage some skin cells, but look at aspartame. Aspartame causes cancer in rats, yet there hasn't been a case yet of a person getting cancer as a result of consuming aspartame.
Scientific studies are done with potent amounts of the ingredient, to see what happens when you get too much. These studies aren't conclusive for humans.
Hi... I have seen that Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry touch go as high as SPF100. Sounds really cure, but wot does SPF100 do??
Please excuse my stupidity. I am not well versed on these topics.
ANd by the way, if someone can help, I am a boy, 21 of age, I have got an indian type skin, and I got acne also. My nose is really greasy, but at times it gets so dry and starts flaking off.
Am I an alien or something because i stil dun understand how an oily face can get flaky.
SPF protect your skin from the UVB rays, which cause burning of skin. the SPF number is an indication of the amount of time that the product will protect you from the sun.
SPF will work differently on everyone. for example, if you get burn in the sun with nothing on your face in 20 minutes, the the SPF 100 will protect you for 20x100=2000 minutes, which is more than a day. (33 hours)
but if you get burn within 5 minutes, the it will only protect you for 5x100=500 minutes, which is 8 hours.
do u use moisturizer? oily skin also needs moisturizer, u can try neutrogena healthy skin line since the suncare works for u .. let me know if u have any questions?
The exact same thing happend to me. My forhead used to be really oily, but started flaking. I didn't know what to do, because l didn't want to intensly moisturize and break out. So, I asked one of the workers at Clinique. Try exfoliating. because sometimes the flaky skin can be just dead skin cells:)
oily face can get flaky too. this means upper layer of skin is too dehydrated.
ur skin produces oil to keep them moisturised but sometimes they tend to overproduce. your skin products may also cause the overdryness too as they are too harsh for your skin.
remember to wash, tone and moisturise(impt even for oily skin) as well as apply sunscreen daily and scrub(get rid of dry dead skincells) and deep-pore mask ur face 2x/wk
It's kinda impossible. That's why I start off w/ a high spf sunscreen. Even though it won't last me all day, at least it will protect my skin long enough for me to drive to school or to work. But for people who don't use makeup or for skin that's exposed to the sunlight, definitely re-apply sunblock. =)
Oh, my god! A sunscreen that lasts three times longer! I mean most suncreens
with parsol have been found to not be uva photostable. This thing is way cool! Mexoryl though protects against the whole uva range but is not as effective as parsol in the long wave uva range. Shiseido can look a bit tacky on darker skins, bit more expensive, has zinc oxide as uva screen. Neutrogena says that uva in this can last up to six hours.
For sunscreen, if you are just working or going to school should you reapply sunscreen to your body? This is a great video because I don't want to get sun damage. Also, if your moisturizer in the morning has spf, should you also put on a sunscreen? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks!:)
Ideally, you should reapply sunscreen every 2 hours. But that's just a little crazy, I think.... So if you are indoor for most of the time, I don't think it's *necessary* to reapply. I slack off most of the times myself =P. However, if you are about to head out again, reapply the sunscreen 15 minutes prior to sun exposure. If your moisturizer has spf, it should work. Spf 15 shields about 93% of UV light, whereas spf 30 shields about 96%. Hope that helps. =)
im black and my friends tell me i shouldn't wear it cause it makes no scene and im like caramel complexion but those who don't wear it just look so old and have a lot of break outs so tell me plz is it abosolutly nessecary
Hi fattybatty1, well, it's not *absolutely* necessary. I slack off too.... but UV rays are very very harmful to skin, not just pigmentations and spots, but it can also potential cause skin cancer. I understand that for darker skinned gal, it is harder to get sunburn, although you can't see it, but the damage is there. Maybe you can consider wearing a tinted moisturizer or foundation that has sunscreen effects. Hope it helps. Stay beautiful!
It's frustrating when people with dark skin are discouraged from wearing spf. UVA rays don't care what color you are, they penetrate to the dermis and cause collagen and elastin to break down which is what makes people look older. UVB is what burns your skin, they only hit the epidermis.
Fattybatty1, I'm also black and I DEFINITELY make sure I apply sunscreen, especially to my face.We can still get wrinkles, sun spots, sunburn(which I've had before), and even worse, cancer. Melanoma is the most deadliest cancer among blacks.Although damage doesn't seem too happen as often it does happen. We have more pigmentation than those of a lighter skin tone which gives us a more natural protection. But of course, we are NOT totally immune to the damage so it is important to wear it.
thank you for this, but i have a question, when i put sunblock on my face in the morning before going to school, do i still have enought protection throughout the day without re-applying the sunblock? i drive going to school about 7am, then go to class. when it's like 12pm, i went out of the classroom to eat, and so, i am walking outside to the canteen for about some minutes. then i go home around 3-5pm i drive again. if i don't re-apply would the protection be enough? THANK YOU!!
Hey there, ideally, you should reapply sunscreen every 2 hours. This is because the sweat and oil secreted by our skin will wash away the sunscreen and diminish its effect as the day goes on (even though we might not be conscious of it). I would say maybe reapply sunscreen about 15-20 min before you step out of your classroom and drive home. If you don't reapply, I think places like temples, forehead, T-zone, or side of your cheeks would be the weak points for penetration of UV light.
DID you use the HELICHRYSUM? it has really worked for me and so has the Jojoba oil! and bio oil combined with helichrysum! it may be bit expensive BUT so worth it girl! it is FAR cheaper than alternative methods u know what i mean! laser... and it CAN have repurcussions too so don't go down that long painful road! SORRY i know i posted this on another video of urs ^ ^ BUT i was really interested if you did use it! also maybe u can make a new video? how the products ahve helped!
I actually don't use sunscreen on a daily basis because I was always afraid it would make me break out. I will definitely check out this Neutrogena stuff though.
haha was that me you were refering to?Thanks this video is gonna help me alot becuase i need something that moisturizes and protects.Girly you have beautiful skin as I always say and movie star teeth too,u should delete that video on the acne battle and do one saying" i have amazing skin and movie star teeth, lol

Neutrogena is great!!
bubles0nskye 2 years ago
neutrogena rocks.
it has a helio-broad spectrum. meaning it has uva and uvb protection. uva means it causes ageing and uvb causes burning.
it works well as a makeup base too. awesome.
