You can find updated statistics from the CIA's World Factbook...

I am using the video as an intro to my lesson on converting fractions, decimals, and percents ( 8th grade pre-algebra). However, I am having my students use the CIA's updated statistics... There are a lot of videos like this, some are geared towards younger audiences. I like that this one is more appropriate for older kids.

I'm sorry to say but a lot of these statistics are incorrect, For example, there are 48 people who are men and 52 women!

This may not seem like a large difference, but when you suppress 6.9 billion people into 100, 2 people is a hell of a lot of people.
