Not to say that this is the worst behavior in the world, but what kind of example is this setting for kids who play hockey or kids who play any other kind of competitive sport? Our fascination with violence provides the incentive for the network to let this be the focus. Violence that could be ended is allowed to continue. Why is this so interesting as to be featured? It would be much more interesting and gratifying to see human beings being kind. The world would be better for it.

Finley don't know how to take advantage of his size. Look at the beginning of the fight, you don't realize he's that much bigger than Martin. He's a big guy, but he doesn't really know how to fight, or so it seems from this fight. Martin is a willing scrapper & pretty good, but not good enough that a 6'8" guy shouldn't be able to clean up on him.

Actually, I'm bigger than Matt Martin, but I can't fight on skates, so Finley'd take me pretty easy. I don't want to judge a guy on one fight, but Matt Martin's gotten beaten up by smaller guys, so when this fight started I thought he'd get slaughtered, but when he didn't I wondered if Finley was just a big guy who couldn't really fight, like ex-Islander Mitch Fritz. I'll reserve judgment till next fight.
