  • tumbs up if u think james may is good but pieter is better

  • james may just has this incredible way of presenting things

  • the definition of a conspiracy theorist- someone who hates the American gov't so much that they'll make up any half cocked story to make the gov't look bad. In their eyes, America can only do bad things.

Classic examples: TWA 800, Moon Landing, and 9/11.

Cure: Unknown, though deportation to a third would country would be nice.

  • That music towards the end of this part is the theme from WWII in HD....lol

  • James May is BADASS

  • 2:07 MAY'S TOP GEAR SIDE TAKES OVER!!

  • I learn more from James May than school ever taught me.

  • james may rox

  • serious global warming going on here

  • Before I knew about a moon HOAX I wanted to be an astronaut. I met a few due to my parents and educational backing. I never said I didn't believe in space travel, nor did I say it was totally impossible to venture to the moon. To me, NASA's agenda doesn't correspond to a moon landing. It's the politics within a contest and not science, it is a HOAX. I've seen the shuttle go up twice and I swear It brought tears to my eyes. For that moment I was in love with NASA, but the lies took it away...

  • @GUARDIANtrooper what the hell you talking bout? well im norwegian but hey we got the tech to go to the moon so you could prolly argue about the date or smth but we defo been there :p

  • @iztrix I could only wish we did, but I just don't believe it. I have my crazy reasons and most of them are very personal. I'm a government student studying on a government facility. With what I see now compared to what we supposed to have done in 1969 is conclusive enough for me go appose. Nevertheless, my love for space travel will never be eradicated...

  • @GUARDIANtrooper You are mentally disturbed, and they sent 12 men to the moon.

  • @njdevil281 Me not believing in something that is obviously a fraud in any respect makes me far from mentally disturbed. I respect the opinions of any individual about the moon landings, but being nice to you clowns is always subject to receive incursions of insults. You can always tell NASA troll, they will call you crazy for endorsing your honest opinion. If the moon landings were a fact, there wouldn't be a debate about something at such magnitude for so many years. The anomalies are evident.

  • @GUARDIANtrooper The only anomaly I can spot here is you. Ask yourself this, if the USSR had put 12 men on the moon instead of the US would there be conspiracy theorists? The answer is no.

  • @njdevil281 I bet I am a problem. Anyone versus NASA is a problem. That's not going to make me go away, now is it? So why do you even bother saying it? If you have a problem with me commenting, don't contest it and your problem is solved, that simple. The Russians not putting anyone on the moon is the main reason why I don't believe we went to the moon. And if the Russian's moon landing videos and pictures look as fake as ours, they will get the same line, "A HOAX." Lay off the moon pies...

  • @GUARDIANtrooper You're not a problem, you're an idiot to the first degree.

  • @njFOOL281Times I rather be an idiot than to be a confused idiot. First you said I was an anomaly and now you are saying I'm not. I tell you what, don't do me any favors by trying to switch anything. You are too confused to think of anything other than breathing and that's involuntary. Don't mess that up and kill yourself, that's the only thing other than your winded up heart you stoled from oz. Just simply be the idiot you are and I will stick with being a PROBLEM and we all can be happy...

  • Why does he always wear that stripy shirt?

  • @themegaslow i like that stripey shirt on him :)

  • whats the song at 1:03??

  • @RoBBed13 it is - Sigur Rós - Hoppípolla

  • I always enjoy watching these space documentaries. I live about 20 miles south of the space center and love watching the shuttles and rockets from my front yard. I hope we start sending astronauts up again because watching a launch from just across the Indian river is an amazing experience.

  • I love these british middle aged men

  • thanks for upload.

  • I just keep watching this...no reason needed!

  • Anyone know what the song at 1:04 is?

  • @samwatt00 sigur ros - hoppipolla

  • whats the music called at the very start?

  • @monkeymagic1986 Brian Eno - An Ending

  • @monkeymagic1986 "An Ending (Ascent)" by Brian Eno

  • The music at the very very start makes me go so philosophical... James May is a legend as well, a brilliant program in total :)

  • @whgespann Thank you very much mate appreciated :-)

  • the u2 isnt the highest flying plane... the sr-71 blackbird is.. it flys at 90,000 feet.

  • @matttane Wrong. The U2 fly's well above 100,00 feet. Check your facts before you post.

  • Whts the piano piece at 8:30 called..

  • @mijynshareef55 The song you can find it on youtube, Richard Harvey - Coming Home C [A Human Story 7] Piano! Enjoy!

  • @whgespann Thnx!!

  • Thnx!!

  • im really jealous about james, first his job on top gear testing great cars, doing funny challenges and now this...???

  • Could somebody please tell me th name of the piano piece at 8:30??

  • @smart118 Richard Harvey - Coming Home C [A Human Story 7] Piano

  • I adore James May for getting this exotic oppitunaty to go up in such a futuristic craft like this.

  • what is the song at 1:08 !

  • 16 people are failed humans

  • America and Britain are the greatest countries the world has ever seen!

  • I'm not gay, but I fucking love James May.

  • @NottinghamForest22 i love him too and im not gay i just like him on the telly :)

  • All of those USD spent shooting at people in the Middle East, and space is ignored.

Empires needn't be forged from blood; frontiers are a time tested crucible as well.

  • If I was president I would come right out and state: "We're gonna go to Mars, and we're gonna do it in less than ten years. End of Story, I don't care about budget..."

That's just how it would be.

  • @yesiamawizardjonny I'd do the same thing!

  • Was that opening shot was from Top Gear's Botswana Special, after they crossed the salt pans and saw the moon rise?

  • Oh, and that " American GTO" Is an Australian Monaro lol.

  • cant stop watching that part when the U2 comes in landing with kashmir (led zeppelin) music.

  • James May! Wonderful ! So sad a Brit has to do our space program's achievements justice so many years later. Thanks You James!

  • BBC ftw

  • He really loves that shirt doesn't he!

  • Would sb. be kind enough to tell me whats the piano peace called at 8:43?

  • 2 Greatest Countries in the world....Great Britain and America> we need to cut the fat and start doing great things again. Love James May. Hopefully I can get to the UK someday and see one of his great Top Gear Shows. Its great that a Brit knows what made america great and what could make it great again. CHEERS James!

  • My favorite thing to watch. James May is the best. I wish Obama would have been removed from office when he cut the funding to the shuttle launches.

  • If only you Brits had told America to piss of and kept your Empire. The world would have remained a more stable place and we'd still have our innocence.

  • James description of the moon landing and the garden moon viewing with their dad about a minute after it happened, mirrors my experience exactly. Something I'll never forget.

  • Thanks For The Upload =)

  • Very good, thank you:-)

  • A lot of America bashing here...

Let's see, since the last moon landing, we've sent probes to Mercury, Venus, Mars (lots), Jupiter (3), Saturn (3), Uranus, Neptune, and have 2 on the way to Ceres, Vesta, and Pluto. Oh, and a couple comets. Not to mention several revolutionary space telescopes, the bulk of a space station and quite a lot of laps around the earth in the shuttle. Have all the other countries in the world combined remotely approached this tally? No.

  • sometimes james may seems similar to steven fry in his curiosity and desire to learn and experience such an endless variety of things.

  • waths the song when the u2 plane is landing ?

  • @apia13 kashmir, led zepplin, if I remeber corectly .youtube.com/watch?v=73dvrir5kig

  • Dear Santa...

  • and now America is no longer going into space.......instead we will pay Russia if we want something up there. :(

  • captain slow!!!!

  • I love James May.

  • @robben896 Hoopípolla means jump in puddles in icelandic og já ég er íslendingur :)

  • What a house!

  • Well, the British are an intellectual society... USA is not. USA is full of ignorant closed mind, over religious people living in denial and their television proves it.

  • @duanpattaya LOL British society is defiantly not intellectual. Most of the nation is glued watching Xfactor or strictly come dancing everynight. British people, more in the north i find, are very blockheaded, ignorant and wont even take seriously idea's that dont conform with their own, British people are very ignorant. We import most of our culture from the US. Most of our news outlets are owned by American corp's as are most aired TV shows, (part from the bbc being the obvious)

  • @kojimapie Well said I totally agree with you.. I'm from the North by the way haha.

  • British are in the top of the human civilisation.

  • @johnchannetshow probably because we enslaved everyone else for a large chunk of their history.

  • did i dream it or did a circus man get pushed by a goat under a wheel and die in this programme?

  • the music is IN PARADISUM (FAURE'S REQUIEM IN D MINOR)

  • whats the music at 1:00?

  • @1280AR hoppipolia by sigur ros

  • @ribenawrath Thanks dude!

  • @ribenawrath hoppipolla ;) which is hoppa í polla in icelandic (im from iceland)

  • wuts the song at 1:06 plz reply :P

  • @hydraflyer it's hoppipolia by sigur ros

  • Kashmir!

  • NASA has been taking photographs from all over the space for decades, why don't they just take and show us one photo of the american flag on the moon then?

  • @turin1 , could you please post a link to a page showing a telescope powerful enough to do? cause I wanna buy it!

  • @turin1 Think about how incredibly small a flag is compared to stars and galaxies, it just isn't possible. Nasa did recently photograph the Apollo landing sites with the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) and although you cant see the flags, you can see the descent stages of the lunar landers, and even some the trails that the astronauts made as they walked around the landing site. BTW if you think they faked it, why wouldn't they just fake some pictures to shut ignorant people like you up?

  • steelbreeze55

"it just isn't possible" Lord! Imagine if Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and president Kennedy had shared the same thought a few years back.

I shouldn't really answer trolls like you, who just want thumbs up for calling ppl ignorant, without making a consistent point across. Simply find out about Voyage 1 (from the 70's) and 2. Shock yourself where they are now.

I've never said i doubted NASA about accomplishing that mission.I purely think they could display to disbelievers some proof.

  • australian car :)

  • I wish there were two super countries now like back in the 60s, their competition in technology would give amazing results, just like this!

  • I met Allan Bean when I was in middle school!!!!!!!!!...I just got the goosebumps

  • @MrRunforyourlife I totaly agree im from america, and something about the british way of explantion and lack of falseness is what makes me think if i wasnt born here i would like to have been born there :) respect to you guys

  • Oh America, can we please become great again? We need another Mr. Kennedy to inspire us. Anymore, we choose to do things because they are easy, and avoid whatever is hard.

  • @TG1212able , damm right, u yanks are supposed to be leading the world into the future. so get ur finger out and get a move on, us brits can't do it, we don't have the money or the imagination anymore.....

  • @pithie84 have you seen american top gear...? it.... suuuucks

  • @pithie84 and im american

  • @pithie84 Don't worry there are plenty of us still lurking in the shadows waiting to build the next great invention or solve the next big problem. We can do it, there are less people then 50 years ago that have the same enthusiasm but, its possible. The largest constraint to us is money. Today NASA only receives .5% of the government budget while 50 years ago it was receiving 4% of the budget.

  • @GunsOfThePhoenix , I have faith in you, but lets hope its not a race that achieves the next big moment in history but many nations joining together in a collective journey.

  • @pithie84 All modern large science efforts are joint projects, so not one nation will be assigned to it.

  • @pithie84 That will never happen, if it did war wouldnt exist. One country has to be greedy and try take all the credit. I kind of wish it did but im from the USA and thats why we are so rich because we steal everything and be greedy.

  • @pithie84 james may looks so gay heheh like a crazy english cow,,,heheh

  • @pithie84 You Brits did well leading the world ad quite sadly for the USA we will neve have a good history like yours, with empire you have recorded history leading back 100 years + but for us in the USA we have 300 years. Thats why i think USA should start to make History now and lots of it.

  • @pithie84@pithie84, unfortunately America seems to have lost it too. 40 years ago we put men on the moon. Now, we seem hard pressed to nail together a good car...

  • @pithie84 To be honest, it's all the red tape and the government paying too much attention to what the people want. They wanted public healthcare, but they did not figure where the money would come from. Health Care is passed, and now BCBS (Blue Cross Blue Shield) is charging it's ppo members up the ass for coverage. Kennedy's ambition drove us to the level of ascension. But Nixon was the one who executed the Moon landing. We just need motivation, and people willing to chase the dream.

  • @pithie84

Well, I'm fairly sure us Brits could lead the world into the future. We just don't have enough sheds.

  • @pithie84 Americans are fucking retarded!

  • @DerrenBrown100 Funny how us retarted Americans have the U2 and the most powerful Air Force the world has ever seen. Didn't think about that before you posted did you? Retard.

  • @conanj30 Most powerful air force and yet completely INEPT at stopping hijacked planes from crashing into buildings...Ya, right! I know exactly how POWERFUL our Air Force is...and anyone believing they could have been fooled by guys with box cutters is only deluding themselves....Fake moon missions, demolished buildings...and ignorant masses believing in APOLLO FAIRY TALES, and GOVERNMENT cover-ups!

  • @un4g1v3n1 are u serious man? or are you joking?

  • @un4g1v3n1 You should stop listening to the voices in your head and come live in the adult world. The Air Force isn't responsible for screening passengers for COMMERCIAL airliners. You CLEARLY have ZERO clue about anything our Air Force does. Me on the other hand? First hand knowledge. Thats right. First hand knowledge. How you say? Easy. I raised my hand and volunteered to serve in the United States Air Force. Twenty years ago chief. You people that think moon landings are fake are idiots.

  • @conanj30 I served from 82 to 88, with distinction. So go fuck yourself. You have no clue about how quickly NORAD responds to aircraft that flies off course..Otherwise you would shut the fuck up period. And if you had the ability to use logic, and critical thought processes, you would have figured out that the APOLLONOTS were nothing more than traitorous MILLI VANILLI Astronut liars!

But, you go on believing in your Apollo Fairy Tales asshole!

  • @un4g1v3n1 1. If you served from 82 to 88 "with distinction", you should know better. 2. This conversation has nothing to do with NORAD. YOU never mentioned NORAD a single time until now. AGAIN displaying how moronic you are. Now you're going to run your mouth off about yet ANOTHER organization you have zero knowledge about. I on the other hand, like I've stated befroe have first hand knowledge. Something you never had and never will have the privelage of knowing. Go take your meds dipshit.

  • @conanj30 Troll much?

  • @un4g1v3n1 All the bullshit comments you've made on all the videos you've commented on and you're calling me a troll? This is what you've come up with? Go look in the mirror. What a sad, confused, no common sense individual you are. I feel sorry for you. Have a nice day troll..

  • @conanj30 All that is required to tell a troll from an actual YT member, is told in the channel. I've actually spent time making videos, and sharing them with any capable of watching them. You, well...Take a look at your sad little channel. Another troll, with nothing to add to YT but his sick little names, and games.

I'll stop feeding you now troll boy!

  • @pithie84 america if falling in to the same boat as the uk, we have the imagination, but funding keeps getting cut

  • @TG1212able It will never happen. Too many people feel sorry for the useless masses to ever rise to greatness. We would rather inflate our population than inflate our greatness. If we are ever to be great as a country again, we must reduce the nations population.

  • @TG1212able If the US government continued to pump in the same amount of money into NASA as they did during the Apollo mission, some people speculate we would have moon bases by now and either be on mars by now or be going there allot sooner then 2030. I know the economy is shit now but Obama has ruined a few space projects already.

  • @TG1212able Clearly not, you're all too ignorant. I mean, does a people that allows ITS givernment to get into trillions of dollars of debt through evil wars, funding of international militias or heading the "war on drugs", a country that has literally killed millions of people really deserve to be great? Sorry, you're probably a good person, but your comment really pissed me off. You should know why you're not great.

  • @murf69 - Yes, a people that assumes the responsibility of policing the world, a role which it despises, a role which garners it vast criticism and hatred, a role which causes it to forsake its treasure and blood, and causes it to engage in acts of tragedy, does deserve to be great, because its risks everything it has, was, and could be, for the sake of protecting humanity from the shackles of communism, threat of terrorism, and incapacity of drug abuse, while the rest sit on their hands.

  • @TG1212able You have no idea what you're talking about. Honestly lol.

  • @murf69 - Call us ignorant because you cannot respect and appreciate the burdens we feel. Call us ignorant because we have to face realities and can’t sit comfortably on the sidelines we preserve. We hate what we are, and we hate what we do, but we do it because it has to be done, and no one else can or will assume the position. Say how you are better than us, that you don’t need us, but forget that you don’t have to do what’s hard because we take care of it.

  • @murf69 - I am not one to start arguments. I recognize our problems. My initial post suggests I do not refuse to acknowledge issues and shortcomings. I don’t want to offend people, but I won’t keep silent when some punk in Australia comes after my country. So please Australia, please offer us a viable solution, one that does not rely upon the opportunities that exist from our own actions which you despise. Sorry, but your ignorance of our position really pissed me off.

  • @TG1212able I think it wouldnt be so much of a problem if it wasnt to blatently obvious what US foreign policy really is. To dumb it down slightly it's basicly " help them out so long as there is something of interest to us in it". You know what? I wouldnt even have a problem with it if they were up front about it but it's just so fucking obviously bullshit. I've spent in total 16 months in Iraq and ive heard the old " were helping these people" so many times it's not funny ( ill continue next)

  • @TG1212able The fact of the matter is NO ONE in the US wants to " help these people" Theyre seen as the enemy by most. And most US soldiers are positivley itching to get trigger happy on them. Did you know that for the first 4 years the rules of engagement were " if you feel threatened in any way" and how often that was taken advantage of? as for poplicy well, it's basicly about oil ( yes that old chestnut) Not taking the oil for themselves as even that would be too obvious ( cont)

  • @TG1212able But ensuring said oil ends up in the hands of " US friendly" assets. The whole "stability " farce is exactly that. There are plenty of other regions in just as much trouble but as there is nothing there the US wants, theyre left to their own devices. It's fucking hypocricy at it's finest. Here's your solution, leave. Not completely just yet but a significant scaling down is in order.

  • @Antifaith29 Truth be told, most of my comment was aimed at pissing off murf69, and is not necessarily indicative of my actual opinion. So please, don't take most of what I said seriously. However, one question. You statement calling out our "hypocrisy". If we are limited to the number of troubled locations in which we can deploy (appears to be 2) for the presumably valid reason of "helping these people", what exactly is wrong with picking places that will provide the greatest return?

  • @Antifaith29 Also, please don’t say “NO ONE in the US wants”. It’s just not true and it’s questionable to rely on the attitudes of troops in a combat zone as being indicative of the larger public. Also, if I made a similar comment about the opinions of Australians, I would be called ignorant, or arrogant, or whatever. Plenty of Americans see aiding in stalling democratic institutions as the primary goal, and a worthwhile one, as democracies lead to stability.

  • @Antifaith29 Further, as the preeminent world power (let’s not get ahead of ourselves with China), we are naturally going to benefit significantly from pursuing a policy of “stability”. And sure, the flowing of oil is ensured by that stability, but that doesn’t make the overarching goal of stability a farce, or that it is not something to be pursued. Oil is of just such a significant tree, it sometimes make it hard to see the stability forest.

  • @Antifaith29 Lastly, we may not articulate our policy as clearly as you might like, but I imagine most of what you hear comes in the form of sound bites. You believe it to be primarily about oil, so when you don’t hear that, you say we are not being ‘up front’. But like I said before, we are clear about stability, and oil is just a byproduct of that stability. Oh, yeah that GTO is a Holden. I wish we could buy Australian cars as Australian cars here, especially since there is no more Pontiac.

  • @TG1212able Well said sir, well said. I love Kennedy's moon speech. If only we had another "space race" with the magnitude as the first one...

  • @TG1212able Why in the world would you need another Kennedy? Haven't your secret societies and government black ops organisations killed enough of them?

  • that Pontiac GTO is not an American car! It's as Australian as McDonald's Angus Beef burger!

  • @igotnoideawhattoput It's an American muscle car just like the Mazda Mx-5 is a British roadster. It has the soul of an American muscle car so it can be called one, it's not so much about not being an Australian car as being an kind of Honorary American Muscle car.

  • @pyromaster55 So you're saying it's not an American muscle car then, right? Because Mazda is definitely not British...

  • @daitantamashii I'm well aware that Mazda is not British, however the MX5 is very British in it's design and feel.

  • @pyromaster55 Well if you put it that way and also take into account the appeal that the Roadster has with British enthusiasts, you might as well call the Honda Civic American. But it's not. The Roadster and Civic are both unmistakably Japanese.

  • @pyromaster55 Wrong. The Pontiac (or we like to know it as Holden here) is very Australian. American muscle cars won't go around corners, whereas Australian muscle cars can and do it rather well!

  • @igotnoideawhattoput Tell that to the Cadillac CTS-V, Corvette Zr-1, or even the new Mustang GT. My point here however, is that a car doesn't have to come from a particular country to be considered great at what that country is known for. Hence my Mazda Mx-5 reference, for anyone who has ever driven one you'll know that it's light, nimble, zippy, and loves tight corners, everything one would expect in the best British roadsters, yet it comes from Japan.

  • @igotnoideawhattoput Just like the Pontiac GTO is indeed based on a Holden Manaro, it does the big engine, rear wheel drive, simple car thing so well it could be called an Honorary American Muscle car. No one who knows about cars would disagree that it's based on a Holden, it just is you can't argue with that. I'm simply stating that we american car lovers have accepted it into the ranks of the Camaro's, Mustangs, Chargers, and GTO's of old.

  • @igotnoideawhattoput actualy. Actualy. That may be a pontiac GTO. But it has the face on a Holden Monaro on the front.

  • Walking on the moon has to be one of the greatest achievements of mankind. It took an interesting mix of expertise, innovation, and stupidity.

  • brian eno plus great show!!!!!!!!!!!

  • brian eno

  • does anyone knows the name of the piano song played when James May has just arrived to Alan Beam´s house?

  • God I love British television

  • i love james may. a wonderfull person

  • dose anyone know the song right in the beginning of this video it was the same as the one on the v12 vantege video

  • @jrdevil21 is the same song of the supercars in France special

  • @jrdevil21 hoppipolla by sigur ros

  • wait, "millions of years"? does David May think the human race has been around as is for 'millions of years'? lol!

  • Comment removed

  • @oojamaflipper Wait, confused numbers, I'm fucking dumb.

  • @oojamaflipper its james may

  • @PtoKaze13 derp

  • may I ask what size is this clip? 160mb???

  • Imagine his nostalgia moments... "i went to the fuckin moon"

  • It makes me sad to watch this.... as politics have filtered their way into manned space flight, something that will soon cease to exist for the US. Not even 41 years ago we put a man on the moon, and had the most advanced space program in the world... not even 41 years ago.... and one man killed that this past year. This is a sad time in history compared to the past.

  • Whats the song that starts at 1:06?

  • @SspavvesS Sigur Ros - Hoppipola

  • The ambient song they use at the beginning from 00:00 - 00:45 is the same song they used on Top Gear when they tested an amazing car that I can't remember it's name, but the episode just ended with shots of the car driving around with that song playing. Does anybody else recognise it or know it's name? I really want to listen to it

  • @lcjj7 they were testing the aston martin v12 vantage on the isle of man

  • @Denmark1534 thats the one :D thanks alot man

  • @lcjj7 The Song is Brian Eno - An Ending.

Ive seen the Top Gear Video, and the car was a Aston Martin V12 Vantage. A fantastic car...

  • beautiful bird

my dad flew B-52s, B-47s and just about everything else made from 1941 on

the size, the sound, the movement of these craft across the surface of the earth, as they lift from the runway, as they turn into the sky...

dad said things few other men think about, to tell their sons...he had been up there...flying

  • God speed captain slow hehehe

  • Will someone please tell me the name of the song that starts and 1:05???

  • @krazkids, "Hoppípolla" by Sigur Rós.

  • Loved it when Kashmir started playing as the U2 came in to land.

  • So the soviet KGB didnt find out that all the moon stuff was a fake but some bored to mental conspiracy junkies did, right, sounds perfectly plausible to me...

  • does anyone knows the name of the song played in the introduction? while James is sitting and talking under thet orange sky (stunning light by the way)
