  • Asshole Inhibitor.

  • clearly he's never had a bad trip

  • @qiqimaster Everyone who takes LSD gets a bad trip once in a while...

  • The real brain food.

  • yes

  • At the very very end, did he say something about the WIlliam Seroyan Theatre in Fresno? Because I went to see his show on Halloween night that! It was awesome.

  • Bill maher is an idiot

  • Bill has the facts down. I received a book for Christmas from a close friend Titled "The Psychedelic Explorers Guide" By James Fadiman, Ph.D. In a more technical way of describing, he proves this is so.

My friend also bookmarked areas w/ 30 hits of pure LSD-25. If you understand LSD, you'll understand that I gave them back to him because I've graduated! He totally respected that I don't need to dose anymore. I love it, Like Ken Kesey & others, I'm enjoying the knowledge I've gained from it.

  • aaaaaaaacccccccccciiiiiiiidddddddddd

    blowsss my miiiiind

    STEVE JOBS <3 BILL MAHER <3 <3

  • Five unfortunate souls licked the wrong species of toad :(

  • @bishoptutuspants A toad named Rush!

  • @RadioCannedMusic Knowledge is power:)

  • without acid you'd probably end up buying a Zune

  • And the DMT reference at the end, this man is awesome.

  • I like Bill, but this correlation between drugs and creativity seems fallacious to me. Two of the most innovative rock musicians of the 60-70s didn't do drugs and actually spoke ill of it: Ian Anderson and Frank Zappa.

The Beatles did drugs, but not while working, and the guy responsible for creating the psychedelic arrangements in Sgt. Pepper (George Martin) never did.

The fact is that most people were doing it, some of them were morons and some were geniuses.

  • @luizcadu You're just saying that it didn't matter whatever they did or did not do drugs. Exactly the same that Bill is saying.

  • @666Tomato666 Not exactly. He's implying that drugs had an important role in the creativity of these people. I don't think that can really be said, because most people were doing it.

But I do think that the fact that Steve Jobs did LSD makes the"brain on drugs" ad look dumb as hell.

  • Cool, he said all this on my last birthday. Thank you, Bill, those words are the best present ever!

  • Maher's greatest moment!

  • I don't encourage the use of drugs but pot has work well for me so far. Not everybody is stupid

  • This is just possibly the greatest new rule ever. It has absolutely everything, except a good punch line at the end.

  • i love my ipad

  • without acid you wouldn't have an ipod - well said

  • @Koryo8 "If it were'nt for acid you MIGHT not have an ipod."

  • @Koryo8 You wouldn't have home computing, the GUI, or laptops in general, because computer engineer, Douglas Engelbart, conceptualized all that stuff from acid trips as well.

  • Yaay! I've finally been proven right! I've been saying this for years and years, that everybody should eat magic shrooms! : )

  • Fuck Steve jobs. Ill do what I wanna do, not what Steve Jobs did.

  • @DreamVikings Exactly what I was thinking dude. If Jesus did shrooms (n im sure i'm not far from wrong) the church would fill up more.

  • @pritishsai you read that book there all on drugs lol

  • poignant

  • I wish Maher didn't compare Mushrooms to LSD. LSD destroys the brain significantly, and can turn you into a slurring idiot when used over time. Mushrooms does not cause the same damage. There is no correlation to LSD and improved creative ability, and although artists tend to use drugs more, it many times is an effort to self medicate. Artists who use "safe" drugs such as shrooms or marijuana are just as creative as LSD using artists. My friend used LSD a lot and is still recovering.

  • @rochelle1088 Please don't make broad statements based on the anecdotal evidence of one of your friends. That sucks for your friend, but it's hardly a representative example.

  • @rochelle1088

That's interesting, both of them are psychedelic tryptamines, they work quite similarly. Personally, I find LSD safer, but as I came to see this varies for different people and I respect those differences.

I think you could use some open-mindedness that Maher speaks about ;d

  • Of the top ten smartest people I know, not one watches Bill Maher.

  • this guys knows whats up,the only reason weed shrooms and acid are illigal is soo we do buy all that perscription bullshit thats haribble for us

  • what he said about shrooms making you positive is true.

  • Thumbs up on Bill Maher for President!!

  • this is a fine speech only I've never liked the way people in stand-up and such say The Beatles made albums ''on Acid''. The Beatles never deliberately took Acid in the studio. There was an influence certainly, and it was a way of libertaing the imagination to encourage the creative endeavours, but they never recorded any song on Acid. at best they smoked Cannabis on their break in the canteen or in the echo room at Abbey Road.

  • @StrummingSparrow calm down calm down its just words man... Lennon was an apostle of LSD - even years after he himself stopped doing it. And I'd agree- they didn't "record" on acid.. They wrote & composed on it (John & George anyway)

  • @ksqmusic yeah I hope I didn't sound too uptight. I'd have to go on a song by song count of Rubber Soul and Revolver onward to respond properly. Ringo said: ''whenever we overdid our intake, the music we did would be absolutely shit, we'd be all into the tape when we recording and then we'd listen back the next day and it's be like ''we have to that again'', see it didn't The Beatles to be too deranged when making music.''what counted as overdoing it though?lol.it'swhat u take from it.

  • this was stuff recorded not in the studio by the way. lol. it was at their houses.

  • @StrummingSparrow the beatles smoked some joints right before they got knighted by the queen of england. they were nervous haha

  • @TheSpinBig that was John Lennons recall of it George denied this, saying they were just smoking cigarettes in the toilets.hmm...right. lol.

  • @StrummingSparrow - John was certainly on acid in the studio sessions for Sgt Pepper, as recounted by George Martin & John. Paul admitted on the national news at the time that he was using acid. George Harrison & Ringo recalled many times previous to Sgt Pepper that they were using acid, if not in the studio.

  • @unquietnights ahh but John took Acid it accidently in the studio. He was freaked out by it because he had confused with 'Uppers' he had. George Martin took him up to the roof for fresh air. I never denied them using Acid or anything else, just that the album itself was not recorded while tripping. It was a huge influence though.

  • @StrummingSparrow Taking acid Directly in the studio would suck. You have to be on point and focused. Im sure they made the songs pre-studio on acid... and thats what really matters.

  • @Biggestmutemathfan only a limited number of songs of theirs were partially written under the influence of LSD like George Harrisons 'It's All too Much'. Weed was the liberator really. Still the LSD made them reflect on and create ideas for songs and was all part of that conciousness.

  • FUCK YEAH 2011 PSYCHEDELIC ENDORSEMENTS ON NATIONAL TV

  • To imply Steve Job's success was due to acid taken in his younger years is ridiculous. But whatever.. I guess it's suppose to be a joke so um... LOL!

  • @GoodBlackMusic Read the biography. It's true.

  • @GoodBlackMusic You should read it first.

  • @GoodBlackMusic He is not really saying the LSD was responsible for his success, but the LSD did not inhibit it. The drug opens your mind, thus allowing you to think outside of the box. I've never tried it personally, due to all the pseudo blotters drug dealers try to pass off as LSD, but love the idea.

  • @GoodBlackMusic its in his bio. what else do you want?

  • wish i had some in my hand right now.

  • Trying to reason out with people on drugs its waste of time

  • This is silly. Acid can really mess people up.

  • @testiclecrusher2 no it cant other drugs passed off as acid can but not pure clean lsd

  • @TheAllseeingike ............lsd can cause many problems, I'm not even going to bother listing them. Go look them up.

  • asshole inhibiter so why do not you overdose on it asshole

  • @himanhiguy except that you can't od on shrooms idiot.

  • @ExplodingTJ relax man take an asshole inhibiter idiot

  • @himanhiguy gladly............idiot.

  • @ExplodingTJ enjoy living in your mom basement .....watching D.C. cab ...........IDIOT

  • ... Of course he's exaggerating- thats the whole point of his comedy style: to parody in a satirical manner & exaggerate to make a point! The central idea here is to have the CHOICE & LIBERTY to do what you want as long as it doesnt affect anybody else. Adding to that, not everything on the topic drugs is as bad as its made out to be by the govmnt. Maybe (or maybe not) with LSD- that requires a calculated and informed decision about costs and health effects. Definitely however, with Marijuana!

  • WHO ARE U TO JUDGE--HIGH D.E.A....BYE D.E.A ????..peace to the people who listen to Jimi Hendrix and realize that we all can be unsyncrizzed and realize what is Good Music is Good Times and Bad Music is .....on purpose ? Whats right is what right . FIGURE OUT A PLAN FOR EACH TRADE OF WORK AND DO THE MATHMATICS . The rest should Organically Farm... They'd be better off there wasnt Politics involved.. Bet this doesnt send ?

  • have to take mushooms sometime....lolz.....friggin so hard to find em in jersey

  • most people's idea of drugs is purely a misconception. just freaking eat some magic mushrooms and judge it. it damages your brain? there is no proof but it is a fact that alcohol and cigarettes kill your brain cells. people have bad trips because lsd amplifies your bad thoughts, as long as you stay positive and in a good environment it will upgrades(literally) your mind. about flashbacks, i wish i had that experience. that would be a free trip!! lol

  • Man this is all so true...

  • epic. so fucking right

  • Two DEA agents down voted this video.

  • haha go maher!

  • "Then bring me Kermit the Frog, and I'll stick my tongue down right his throat." LOL

  • SICK!!! I JUST SHROOMED ON THE 29TH AND I ACTUALLY LIKE DUBSTEP FOR A NIGHT BECAUSE THE GUY LETTING ME STAY THE NIGHT WAS LETTING ME CRASH AT HIS PAD. NOW THAT IS SICK.

  • @GoReds10FuckOff

You left your caps lock on.

  • @BitterLad Shit it was the mescaline I forgot.

  • @BitterLad thats called cruise control lol

  • Terence McKenna would be proud

  • I agree with quite a bit of what Bill is saying, but Crick did not discover the structure of DNA while on acid. There is no evidence to support that claim. Crick did experiment with acid during a different period in his life, but Bill is doing nothing more than spreading a false rumor.

  • @wergo22 In like 2003, a couple years before he died, Crick admitted that he saw the double helix shape during an LSD trip

  • @burgerkingmurders I've looked into this quite a bit and I've never read anything from a reliable source that said Crick was high on LSD when he conceptualized the double helix structure. Usually just pro-drug legalization message boards and websites that say this. If you have a reliable source that quotes Crick saying that he was high when making the discovery, I'd love to see it.

  • LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He's either wearing a hair peice or he got a transplant, either way his hair looks great.

  • damn right

  • @chingon711 Didn't that already happen?

  • @chingon711 you mean ULTRA? it happens every year.

  • @cyborg527 Or All Good, or Electric Forest, or every Furthur show on tour.

  • Hmmm Sgt. Peppers or Slowhand? Slowhand has COCAINE!

  • I love Mushrooms!

  • thank god someone is saying it. The drug policies in this country are barbaric, racist, and insane.

  • @codizable racist?

  • @codizable People need to stop being retarded and get their heads out of their asses. LSD, mushrooms, mescaline, and marijuana are evolving our brains, not destroying them. The elite who control us know this, and that is why they made it illegal. If we evolved ourselves, we would never let them pull the shit they get away with!

  • @codizable ...and let's not forget: drug prohibition is a kind of censorship, you could (or should) even call it mind control.

  • So what he is saying is shrooms should be required prior to debates!! that i would love too se.

  • @jimdidr hahaha yes...................hilarious

  • @jimdidr There would be no debate. Everyone would agree on EVERYTHING!

  • This is great.

  • Word up!
