@SuperMauricioromero The 717 is essentially a modified DC-9. New wings, new engines, new avionics, new interiors, but otherwise the structure is the same.
@SuperMauricioromero Well they do look a like, since you could say that the Boeing 717 is the grandson of the DC-9 (it was a McDonnell Douglas designed plane before they merged with Boeing). The differences is more in terms of technology (cockpit, engines etc)
There is the North Central Airlines goose on the tail, I can't remember who NCA merged with to form Republic, anyone remember?
I worked as a cooks helper under Joe Marcon in the kitchen there and what a spread we put out for the employees as well as the passangers, it was first class
After a long while as just North Central Airlines, they acquired Southern , then Hughes Airwest later on. They changed the name after that, to more accurately represent the "coast to coast" footprint of routes.

Obsolete? These aircraft flew long and short hauls very comfortably. I'll take a 727 over today's "Regional Jets". ANY day!

@doug9driver I think he was referring to the actual commercial and not the aircraft.

What was the year this video produced?
it is nice but look very "obsolete".

By the way, it's NOT a goose on the tail. It's "Herman" the DUCK !
