  • i love writing papers to this song...it makes ideas come so much easier the song helps me think

  • If I had to accept the world how it is today, right now;

I'm not so sure if I could.

  • I am a fairly logical thinker. I usually discredit and disapprove of fantastical thinking. I am very scientific with how I evaluate life. I am very concerned with accuracy and proper analysis.

    However, this song.

Despite how darn sure I am. Despite how much data or evidence there is for there being nothing supernatural or outrageously unexplainable in our reality. This song has an enchancting effect that brings the child out of me. And for one fleeting moment, anything is possible.

  • Amazing!

  • Songs like this make you realize how pitiful and small our existence as a human specie is, and how worked up we become, floating through space, trading paper money for peoples lives, starvation, misery, disease, we're like ants all scrambling to gobble up resources , polluting the planet and overpopulating, At least some things will never change, Good music is good music, period.

  • @exiledregiment

    Well spoken

  • Here's what happened to me when i listened to this one day ... I kept my eyes close the entire time and i got these crazy chills almost the whole time. my body was facing the wall as i was laying down and i felt something moving towards me, very slow but closely. I couldnt take it it so i opened my eyes. but while my eyes were close all i could see was a very bright sky with like an ocean and sand

  • “Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find resources of strength that will endure as long as life lasts”

  • That movie American Beauty wasn't really a great movie in the way that people portray it as.

  • @98bigbutt Maybe you should watch it again because you missed the point

  • @dooVoob,What's the point? A middle aged suburban married man is going to a midlife crisis, tries to sleep with his daughter's friend, the stupid plastic bag floating around, the wife is sexually desperate that she sleeps around, their weirdo neighbor has a stupid camera and filming bullshit and has a gung-ho father who's gay in denial?

  • @98bigbutt My friend life is full of problems. While we focus on ourselves and desires, we forget to appreciate the closest people to us. We are willing to cheat, slander and condemn other people as long as we fulfill our most egoistic desires but life ends and we realize when it is too late what really was important. The movie has a deep message and at the same time it shows how small a person's life really is on the big scale of the universe.

    God bless you!

  • @98bigbutt I feel it's a movie about the absurd hindrances we have about who we are. I feel it's a movie about social persecution, witchburning, and how these dangerous social sentiments make us lead unhappy lives. The portrayal of these events is easy on the mind...easy for someone to see without being frightened. That's my impression from long ago, anyway. If you'd like me to describe why I feel a movie as described above is important, I could do that for you.

  • He will always be my favorite composer! :)

  • The hexagon lounge

  • To me, this song is the epitome of beauty. If I could share but just a few minutes of this music with every soul, it would be worth it. A piece of music that can make wash away your troubles or your heartaches for a few , just a few short minutes. This is what Thomas Newman does for me.

  • Excuse me, Mr. Hexagon Master. Your logo travels in a circular motion. however, great upload :P

  • 1 person slipped on their arse and slammed the left clicker right onto the dislike button and woke up thinking 'Oh my God, what have I done'.

  • put this on repeat than just lay down in bed or a couch.. u forget about life and everything around it during those 4 minutes and 8 seconds.

  • This was also the song played in the movie "Phenomenon" during the scene where John Travolta was watching the trees sway in the breeze. This is an amazingly beautiful song that brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.

  • mom: hey, where are you going?

me: beat 1 guy who doesnt like this video

    mom: all by yourself??

me: yeah why not, he's just one,mom

  • which way is it really spinning? lol jkjk

  • im related to him :D

  • so awesome =)

  • Amazing piece of music!

I think it was this tune that made the movie great and not the other way round.

I also love the Road To Perdition theme tune.

  • Nah, the film and this music complimented eachother brilliantly.

Each gives context to the other and now it is hard for me not to imagine the "dancing" shopping bag when I hear this...

    Poigniantly beautiful.

  • heard this in a film & loved it Hexagonmaster thanks

  • That would probably be "American Beauty" starring Kevin Spacey, which he won an oscar for ;)

  • @Hexagonmaster I heard it in "Road to Perdition", but that doesn't mean it hasn't been recycled. Beautiful piece.

  • @Hexagonmaster It's also in Shawshank Redemption.

  • @elocrocker lol no it isnt
