the only season or "climate" that we don not see in the film is Spring. and that is what Bahar (name of the woman in this film) means in Turkish.
Nuri Bilge Ceylan has shown again, that he's among the best directors in the world. but watching him as an actor... i don't know. maybe it's because the character of İsa, that he didn't show much expressions on his face.
the best movie review written on "climates," was by michael phillips of the chicago tribune. he thought so highly of the film, he placed it third in the top 10 of the decade. the movie is indulgent yet poignant and haunting. a very well made and insightful movie that centers on a very unlikeable character - passive-agressive, selfish and without self-reflection, and thus he's incapable of change. a very good film.
You need to be in the right mood to take in such beauty as this. It a slice of the complexity of relationships as you age in life. The music is wonderfully solemn, the settings breathtaking. You can perceive so much just from watching the facial expression of Ebru Ceylan in the opening of the film. So painfully beautiful.
damn advertising it is not a fantastic trailer ... the comments are disturbing
