Never really been one for TV...Makes my brain numb, but music, definitely. And I'm a metalhead by nature. When I got saved, because I heard a lot of the lyrics in the songs I listened to, I tried to get away from it all. After like, a few weeks of retiring my mp3 player, I committed to deleting all my secular music and found lots of uplifting Christian music. Stuff I could bear to listen to. Now I've deleted all the secular junk and have twice as much music as before.

Years ago, I used to watch music videos with my mother. Recently I tried an experiment in which I watched a half hour of music videos and I found that none of them had a positive message and that some of them were SO Satanic that you could not watch them with anyone, let alone with a tween! I figured maybe my test was flawed so I increased the time to an hour and still got the same results! I'm awake and have the ability to see the hidden truth but people are waking up! I got rid of my cable (sky tv) about 2 years ago, as a result, my tv was only showing the free view channels. I had started going off tv over the last few months or so, then about a month ago I lost even the free view channels when I moved the tv from one position to another, (it keeps saying no satellite signal received), and that's it ...all I have is 4 basic stations-channels 2-5, (I can't get BBC1). So I don't try to watch even the news anymore lol (talk about being set up by the Lord)!!!

Never really been one for TV...Makes my brain numb, but music, definitely. And I'm a metalhead by nature. When I got saved, because I heard a lot of the lyrics in the songs I listened to, I tried to get away from it all. After like, a few weeks of retiring my mp3 player, I committed to deleting all my secular music and found lots of uplifting Christian music. Stuff I could bear to listen to. Now I've deleted all the secular junk and have twice as much music as before.

Years ago, I used to watch music videos with my mother. I got rid of my cable (sky tv) about 2 years ago, as a result, my tv was only showing the free view channels. I had started going off tv over the last few months or so, then about a month ago I lost even the free view channels when I moved the tv from one position to another, (it keeps saying no satellite signal received), and that's it ...all I have is 4 basic stations-channels 2-5, (I can't get BBC1). So I don't try to watch even the news anymore lol (talk about being set up by the Lord)!!!

I can say TV definitely helped to destroy my marriage.
I no longer watch TV, it's been almost a year.
And I feel great without TV.

Technology is good, depending on what you use it for. Once you switch on the TV you have no control over what garbage is presented to you.

I get criticism from other Christians too when I tell them I haven't watched secular tv for over a year and that I haven't listened to secular radio in years. They think I'm being too extreme, but I don't want that rubbish in my head.
I too have often walked out of a shop when filthy music has been playing loudly.

You are speaking 100% the Truth! TV & radio has become full of filth, as is the internet. Even the cartoons that our kids watch has become unfit for them to watch. They are teaching our kids hate and anger and attitude. As a Christian, we have to turn away from the world; not be apart of it. I had a local show on last night, so that I could watch the weather bullentin. While I'm talking to a Christian friend on the phone, I look on the TV and see two women kissing. It's really sad!

You are so correct! I recently was taking my little girls to Subway & when we walked inside the store their radio was playing a song over the intercom that was saying and I quote " I kissed a girl and I liked it " And it was a woman singing the song! I turned around and walked right out of there. The world is total pollution. I cant even attend a meeting at work without listening to all kinds of foul language & most of them claim to be born again. LORD have pity on us! God bless you friend.

i know me and a lot of my friends have been ruled by television for awhile. i just got saved a few weeks ago but there is shows i'm trying to brake free from slowly but surly. i felt it was time to give up the family guy. i do realize this show is always poking fun at god. i still got a lot to give up but i'm on my way.
