I have the Nokia N9 and its one of the best phones you could possibly use. I also have an iphone, but I prefer using the N9 for every day usage. You have to check the N9 and Lumia 800. Beautiful phones running awesome OSs.
Too bad man. I got it for $170. didn't hurt too much. I recomend you to used android phones and also to buy them from ebay if possible. I'm planing to get Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro since I'm a QWERTY keyboard aficionado. Also reconemnd you to use GSMArena.com you can look up for phones by their requirements and get what you need.! just hold the home and turn off button both together when it is shows the nokia sign keep holding and it should brighten up a bit on the screen then it shall work but i still hate this phone T~T
I bought the N97 abt 4 months ago. First thing I noticed was that the slide 'wake-up' switch on the side of the phone fails to work esp when trying to accept an incoming call. Also sometimes the phone just locks and only way 2 clear it is remove the battery and re-boot the phone. Am xtremely disappointed having paid around €280 on bill-pay. I feel like just chucking the phone in a river and buying a cheapie phone

download firmware 2.1 . it made mine much more stable.. till now no lags or shut downs or anything of tht sort. But after u install it, do a hard reset. the phone is starting to act the way it was supposed to now! i hope it stays like this !
well 1st thing u try is remove the battery, put it back in n restart. if doesnt work, try holding the power button till it starts. if it doesnt work, wait for it for a day then try again. if it doesnt work, (remove the memory card n try again if u have a memory card). if not, u have to hard reset it. u can do that by pressing caps shift + spacebar + backspace + on button at the same time.
Try removing the memory card and restarting. That's what you have to do being a Nokia owner. Try to work around someone elses problems that you paid good money for. My phone likes to shut down after calls and Nokia doesn't care cos they already have your money.
I feel your pain... and the problem is I have to live with this phone for at least another 6 months. I tried selling it and they offered me 1/3 of what i paid for.
What apps did you install? You mentioned two of them... I know that some apps that are downloaded from internet tend to mess up the phones software, and that goes double for symbian phones. Why dont you use the phone without them for a while and see if it works properly? But i understand you, you payed a lot of money to get a working phone...
all my apps were installed from Nokia's own OVI store.. the only ones that arent are google maps and deviceinfo. Both of them are extremely useful, especially device info. I tried using it without apps.. it was more stable, but still not stable enough and would still crash at weird times.

well if you say i was 1/10 happy with the old firmware, I'm now 6/10 happy with the new one. It still is slow, like really slow, when you multi task. That's the main issue.. speed.

Its because of the inefficient processor. You basically shouldn't download many applications. There is no solution for this.

press two shifts, and backspace at once at starting. u have to wait until hands stretch.
by the way: i bought it on 21th june. it cost 1100 dollars. i sold it a few weeks ago, about 650 dollars.
