Thank you soooooooooo much, saGarsaab2007, for this rare clip of my favorite actress:) Always a treat to find rare material on her, so I'm thankful for the effort and time put in making others happy:)
Though Hema had two "characters" in this film - one of the lively and vivacious village belle and the other of the dignified wife - she did both parts complete justice as only Hema can:)
Love this song and the picturization on Hema and Jeetu. This is my favorite film of the pair for they both looked heavenly in it - separately and as a couple. Hema's village-styled outfits are as gorgeous as an attire can ever get. Totally matches her larger- than-life attitude in the film.
What I found to be sooooooooo touching about Hema's character was the fact that she didn't have a single doubt in her mind that her husband could've ever had the chance to pass away; in her mind, he was just away on business - not dead. Therefore, she didn't consider herself a widow (as displayed by her refusal to wear a completely white attire, as Indian tradition requires). When she did finally meet her husband's look-alike (also played by Jeetendra)...
Hema plays a village belle-turned-bride (hence the title of the film - "Dulhan") whose life takes a sudden turn when her newly-wedded husband (WONDERFULLY acted by Jeetendra himself) passes away on the morning following their wedding reception. Every morning, thereafter, Hema's character (Radha) starts her day (and ends it, too) with the hopes that her short-lived husband will return one day. It's this hope that keeps her alive and re-energizes her.
I looooooooooooooooooooooooooove this movie; love it so much that it can safely take its place as one of my top five favorite Hema films, for not merely for its plot - which was quite the winner - or the music - as lovely as Laxmikant - Pyarelal can ever get -, but particularly for the grade-A acting by its renowned stars: Hema, Jeetendra, Ashok Kumar et al, with short-yet-tasteful guest appearances by the legendary comic himself - Mehmood and THE DRAMA QUEEN OF THEM ALL - Manorama.
great song from one of the most interesting story film ever. thanks saab2007 for posting. please upload all the songs from this movie. kindly also upload songs from Jeetuji's films like JUDAAI, TUMHARE KASAM, ROOP TERA MASTANA, KINARA, KUSHBOO etc. God bless you.
Ur most welcome gbolagun! Finding and posting somehow rare songs is my priority. Will sure try for ur requested songs though i feel most of them are available here on youtube.
she was my dad's favourite actress. he saw every movie of hers. so i too know about her. OK. She is very beautiful. but she is not a good actress. Rekha was better than her in the acting dept. She only acted well in some movies. She was not consistent and to top it all very overweight most of her movies. What i am trying to say is that your comments about her are like she is some goddess! Please she is also a human being. Dont worship her for heavens sake Anyway if you do its your problem.
Immaculate! My foot! she married a married man. she broke the home of the deols. One would hardly call her immaculate. it doesnt fit her at all. For heavens sake she is just human and she is an actress. she is beautiful but not the most beautiful in the world. She is not the best package. She was fat and had a masculine voice. No package. Just a beautiful face thats all!
Thanks for posting the song!...It is great. There was another song from the same movie Dulhan titled "Main Dulhan Teri...". Anyone know if that song is out there?
yes!jeetu & hema have given some real wonderful performance togather.Jeetu proposed Hema? well my friend they were almost married but at the last moment shobha sippy ( presently Mrs. Jeetendra ) reached at the Temple with Dharmendra & stopped the ceremony forcefully . Infact jeetendra was dating shobha from their teenage time. She made dharmendra her rakhi brother and with his timle help got jeetendra back...! And rest as they say is history......Ekdaumm fillmy Right ? ;)
Do you what happened to the immortal actor Sanjeev Kumar's proposal. Jeetendra was upposed to be his emissary to convey love and marriage proposal. It could be a movie. The most handsome actor, the greatest actor, a famous jumping Jack hero Bollywood troika and the Dreamgirl! All of them gave many hits with Hema.

..., she felt as if she was on cloud nine, feeling such ease and happiness that she had contradicted other's beliefs of her husband ever being dead.
