In regards to hockey, from what I've seen it's generally a one-on-one "fight" that is supervised. The problem with football(and sometimes baseball) is that you have two small armies fighting. Perhaps they're more worried about somone getting pinned down and another guy stomping on the head or leg of another player with cleats.
Very true. It's funny when I watch the hockey fights and line brawls, the refs allow them to fight-then separate them. Heck they even put their fight stats and player vs comparison
In baseball, players condone the beaming of batters. However, in the NFL and NBA fighting is thuggish; at least thats what execs call it. Instead, those who run UM decided to take care of their community by giving those who were poor, a chance to improve their futures. I have no doubt in my mind that Florida would win against Texas and USC. You play in a weak division, SEC contains the strongest teams. Proved by when Ole Miss annihilated Texas Tech. Some of the SEC's teams beat some of your best teams, and that's because they a pushed harder than any other division in football.
