  • Would this be good for the likes of 80's hard rock?

  • @Sodacake

    Absolutely.

  • dude awesome riffs!!! what guitar is that???

  • @raysonkong

Thanks. It's a Vigier Excalibur Custom.

  • good for death/black metal ?

  • @zzzxtreme

Beats me since I don't play those styles, but I tend to doubt it unless you're juicing it with a pedal and using a closed back cab. This has more if an old school metal vibe and there are probably better options for black/death metal.

  • What a great guitar demo. You rock!

  • one question please, in your video for the heavy riff with or without saturation pédal ?

  • one question please, in your video for the heavy riff with or without saturation pédal ?

  • @ThoWmas31

This is without a boost. It is noted in the video information if I used a boost.

  • i like this riff. good sound & playing

  • i watch this video 2 times a day

    Rock on man

  • Fab playing and recording.... My laptopspeakers were rockin....Yeah.

  • Bogner sounds great.Could you possibly make a demo where you play a heavier riff?

  • @alexlordabortion

Sorry bud, that's about as heavy as I get.

  • Very nice man!

  • Sounds great Bob, How many watts is the head??

  • @Guitarman777

    Thanks,

    It's two 6L6's. 40-50 watts?

  • First off .. Great playing / Great tone. I think I'm pretty convinced this is the amp I'm getting next. My Marshall plexi is wonderful, but so tempermental. 3rd time this year I'm having to retube it. Would you suggest getting the head / matching cabinet .... or getting just the head & matching it with my Marshall Vintage 30 cab? or either one of the combo versions ? and also, how are they on normal maintenence such as tube wear, etc. ?

  • Thank you for the kind words.

The matching cab looks and sounds great, however, since you already have the Marshall cabinet it's at least worth a try first. What I would suggest is bringing the cab with you to the store and trying the Marshall out side-by-side with the Alchemist cab. See which you like best. Tube wear and maintenance is pretty much the same as any tube amp. Drive it hard and you'll burn through the power tubes more quickly...

  • Hey man. First off great vid. I have a question. I just bought this amp and i noticed that my phaser and flanger pedals are not as bright through this particular amp. especially on the mercury channel. did you encounter any issues with stop boxes. I love the amp, i just dont know if something is wrong with it. i tried the loop and it seemed to be worse. My delay came through fine and my chorus was okay but the phaser and flange seemed almost not present. thanks

  • I'm not a "pedal guy" so I dont' have any experience with this, however, if you put a flanger in front of the amp and you don't or hardly hear it, *something* is wrong, I just don't know what it could be.

  • WOW! Thats sounds really awesome and I wish I could play like that but I cant. The best part is when you are playing guitar switch to bass and then back to guitar is like 1 second. Are you a magician too? Tha trick was just too cool

  • If I were a magician I'd be making the big bucks in Vegas. The bass player is my evil twin.

  • would you mind sharing the settings you used on this? the alchemist sounds incredible, by the way.

  • I don't have any notes or pictures for this one, however, if you watch the HD feed there are some pretty good angles where you can see the settings. Sorry about that.

  • Can you play Metal with it ??

  • I think i best check it out huh, thx for the help ;)

  • nice one sounds gr8, lol fast reply. i got the egnater rebal 20 atm but i aint happy with it now am thinking of swaping, is this amp 'too loud' for home use?

  • It's a tube amp so it can be loud, but I think it sounds good at low volumes too. For home use, you may want a modeler if you need ultra low volume.

  • hi, do you use any pedals infront of this>? just wanna know if this is the amp or a pedal thc man, nice playing btw XD

  • No pedals on this one, it's all Alchemist.

  • Great tune Bob, loved the tone of the Bogner too!

  • God Damn Man!!!! The tone on this thing is to die for. Love your playin too. Keep posting!!! 5 Stars

  • Now THATS the way you record a demo

  • Wow! That song kicks ass.

And you have a great tone. Nice job. All that tone chasing has really paid off for you.

  • Thanks man, I appreciate it. I don't really feel as though I've been chasing anything though. There are a lot of great sounding amps out there, and I've been fortunate enough to own a number of them, including the Alchemist!

  • i've heard that since bogner has joined up with line 6 their amps have been iffy.... My friend said the Bogner's lead channel was really muddy, how have you found it?

  • I've found nothing "iffy" about the Alchemist rig. To the contrary, I think the Alchemist is an excellent amp. Just about any amp can be made to sound muddy, just put the right person at the control and you have instant mud. ;-)

  • haha thats probably the case he doesn't know much about amps... or maybe the one he tried was a dud. it sounds amazing i was just a little skeptical about the durability because of line 6's involvement. Wish i could get one but till then make some more vids so i can enojoy!

  • What mics are yo using?

  • SM57 and Beta 57.

  • Unless I'm mistaking, you're neither an Elephant nor a Tank, so why the name?

  • I don't understand this either. My birth name is Elephant Jeraldo Maximillion Samuel Tonto Tank.

  • Excellent audio! Should silence all the doubters.

  • No, they'd be shouting over it :P

  • Hmm, I LOVE the tone of these things!

But those knobs..... Can they be changed to fender style witch hat knobs?

  • I don't know what a "witch hat" knob is, but like any knob, I'm certain you could replace them.

  • Awesome!!

Not only do I love your TONE,you Shred.

I have to have one,Thanx for posting & keep rockin.

  • I am looking for a lead guitar. If you were to buy another woulod you stay with excalibur and the model you have. BTW: Which excalibur is it? Any thoughts I should consider now that you have used this guitar for awhile.

    Thank you.

  • I've got the Excalibur Custom, however, I'd recommend the Excalibur only because I like to have a forearm relief on the body. The relief you see on my guitar is not stock.

  • that ones an original i think

depends if you want a floyd or not

    i've got a supra

    with the 2011 bridge

    dimarzio pickups

i tried a couple and it was my favorite

    but seriously

you have zero chance of getting a bad guitar if you buy vigier

    you'll love whatever you buy

  • That was sick! Can't wait until I have enough for mine. Just wondering, what kind of guitar are you playing?

  • It's a Vigier Excalibur.

  • I just ordered the 2x12 combo tonight! Can't wait to play it now... BTW, what video camera & software did use you for the HD video, looks & sounds awesome!

  • Enjoy the combo!

I'm using the Sony HDR-HC5 camcorder, however, I'm not using it for sound. The audio is all done within Samplitude 10.

  • sounding nice! how do you like it to your other amps?

  • I'd say it holds its own compared to anything I've got.

  • fucking awesome

  • That sounds pretty damn good!

  • Dude, that sounds MASSIVE! Do you have the rhythm in a backing track?

  • I started out with only a drum track, so I recorded the bass and then all rhythm and lead parts using the Alchemist. I could provide you with the drum track if that's what you're looking for. I got it from somebody on the Harmony Central amp forum.

  • Good stuff Bob!
