There's a reason behind breaking out the windows and what appears to be total destruction of a home by firefighters when a home is on fire. Breaking out windows and cutting holes in the roof of a structure helps ventilate and removes a ton of heat (so we're not burning up inside), smoke (so we can find victims and locate the fire faster and put it out!) and most of all provides cleaner air for victims inside the home if they're trapped.
