@TolitoGangster Um...Nope..If there are popular MLB teams in Mexico, these are the Dodgers, Yankees, and teams with a hometown near the border cities of Mexico (which your team is NOT), like the San Diego Padres i.e. for the Californian Region; not even the Cardinals have a big fan base here in Mexico (despite their great history in titles); huge difference to say “a lot of fans” and “The Biggest Fan Base”; 90's Braves were a great team, before then, few people cared about them.
Look at the Braves now. Top of the wild Card. It's the 21st Century. Chipper Jones. Jason Heyward. Brian McCann. Dan Uggla. Martin Prado. Michael Bourn, a player recently drafted from the Astros. Craig Kimbrel, a 23 year old Closing pitcher with over 40 saves, with it being his 2nd season playing. I'm pretty sure we're Doing pretty damn good.
Atlanta and Philadelphia are the two best teams this year, by the way. Does any real baseball fan truly prefer to AL over the NL, by the way? The latter provides a REAL style of baseball.
@verizon20051 The regular season decides the best team, as the case sample is greater. Minnesota literally cheated in 1991, and Deion and Otis were out for Atlanta, who was better. In 1992, Atlanta did lose to an inferior team. In 1993, Atlanta lost to a thirstier, more-focused team. In 1996, same thing. In 1997, same thing. In 1998, same thing. In 1999, Atlanta was down. Same for 2000, when John Smoltz was out for the year. Actually, Atlanta neer has been at full strength in a "loss."
Well, the Yankees "won" a series where Andres Galarraga and Javier Lopez didn't play. Pound for pound, the Braves were far better. Throughout their overrated history, the Yankees (and more and more recently, the Red Sox) have shown no talent in evaluating, cultivating talent but instead in buying the services of opponents they'd rather not face. Thankfully, John Smoltz and Andruw Jones would have no part of NYC. John Rocker was right about that city, by the way. NYC-- very little class.
@gfscarface13 LOL, why the butthurt attitude? The Yankees know it's more than just buying championships; it takes team chemistry too. Just ask members of the Bronx Zoo era such as Sweet Lou, Mr. October, Willie, Gator, or even better, ask members of the Torre era such as Paul, Bernie, Ramiro, Derek, Andy, Mo, Jorge, to name a few.
i grew up in newark,nj; and had been to numerous yankee games as a kid. this was my first world series game , i knew Clemens would close it out. i sat in the bleacher "creature" section on this night and it was amazing. best yankee game i was ever at.
I'm a sox fan, so this video doesn't exactly get me excited. However, watching it made me miss the good old days of late 90s and early 2000s baseball. The steroids scandal hadn't been brought to light yet (even though a lot of players were doping up, ignorance is bliss). 9/11 hadn't occurred. There was no recession. I was in my teens. I had no worries and I watched baseball all the time. Ahh the memories.
You can't argue with success. For all of Atlanta's accomplishments from '91 through now, they still only won ONE World Series! The Yankees won FIVE in that stretch, and no other team won three! It's not an accident! Plus in those 15 post season appearances by Atlant, the Braves went to five World Series while the Yankees went to seven!
How did we get swept by the Yankees in the 99 World Series? It's ridiculous. We went to fucking 5 god damn World Series in the 90s ('91, '92, '95, '96, '99) and we only won 1 fucking World Series. I'm glad Bobby Cox is gone. Hopefully now, Fredi Gonzales will not choke like the wife beater Bobby Cox.
@AttitudeEra4life459 Cause the yankees Bought this Championship and Clemens was playing lights out with his Steroids. Other yankees were caught with steroids as well.
Dumbass. There's no such thing as buying championships. The Yankees could have easily won without Clemens. Even as a Yankees fan I hate that fucker.
Also, Alex Rodriguez was the only one who took illegal steroids and that was when he was in Texas. Pettite took LEGAL steroids to HEAL. I had to take the same ones after brain surgery back in the summer of 2004.
@crazybaseballdude12 HGH is ILLIGAL it was BANNED years ago so idk what fantasy world your living in and yes the 2009 philadelphia phillies = REAL world series champions they were SCAMMED by the new york yankees by the yankees BUYING most of there roster in 2009 and also used STEROIDS and bought this title with clemens and a few others
yeah i know. though maybe 2000 as well since his record was 13-10 with an ERA in the high 3s. 2001 he took them for sure because he ended the season 20-3. it's hard to believe he wasn't on juice then...i'm confused, are you a yankees fan? just curious....
@AttitudeEra4life459 The Braves were winning two of the four games in 1999 entering the eighth inning, but Cox stuck with his starting pitchers too long (especially a tiring Tom Glavine in Game Three).
Yet the Braves were also undermanned from a talent perspective. That season, they'd lost Andres Galarraga, Javy Lopez, Kerry Ligtenberg, Rudy Seanez, and Odalis Perez to season-ending injury or illness and still won a major league-best 103 regular season games and the NL pennant.
@joekiddlouischama As such, Cox deserves an immeasurable amount of credit. He did commit some mistakes, but the Yankees enjoyed a greater breadth and depth of talent. For instance, in Game Two of the 1999 World Series, the Braves' starting lineup included second or third-string players such as Greg Myers, Keith Lockhart, and a thirty-five-year old Ozzie Guillen.
i went to both David Wells and David Cone perfect games and I sat in those seats. I also went to game 3 and sat in those seats. Maybe not those EXACT seats. But around there. GO YANKEES!

@MrSouthphillyitalian the Atlanta Braves have a large hispanic fan base,on univision the world's spanish language website only the braves and the yankees have a page,Atlanta is large city with trains and buses,a great night life and 24 hour transportation,a city where people can still work and has a large african american population and a large hispanic population and a fast growing asian population aswell as a large white population, atlanta is diverse, the braves have fans all over the world
@TolitoGangster Philly is twice as big as Atlanta buddy and every city is diverse if anything Philly is the most diverse city in the country with the highest growing amount of immigrants than any other major city, should i tell you the American flag was sewed in Philadelphia and the Declaration of Independance was signed in philly also. nice reply wen ur team is on a slump and mine isnt. PHILLIES all day
@MrSouthphillyitalian It's about time the Philies won a game because they've been doing lousy all year, the Atlanta Braves have a good team so that's why they win alot, look if the Braves and Philies go to the playoffs they will have to play tough teams like San Fransico,San Diego,St.Louis or Cincinnati, after that they might have to play the Rays, the Yankees or White Sox the World Series so dont count your chickens before they hatch. Atlanta is the city of the future. GO BRAVES all day, everyday!
@MrSouthphillyitalian not true, they are 3 division championships and one wild card team for the best 2nd best team in the national league, the Braves are going to win the division, you need to take that hockey photo down from your profile and take that hockey stick out your ass and learn what baseball is all about buddy
@TolitoGangster u lost to the nats i win lol and na that pic stayin up Flyers are great, thrashers suck buddy sice kolvulchuk left and actually football is my #1 sport u aint got shit wit me on football bitch dats y Eagles fuck up falcons last year ahaha
@MrSouthphillyitalian Atlanta has a bigger fan base,we are the 2nd most popular team among Latin Americans only the Yankees have more, univision's website is proof, only the Braves and Yankees have fan pages and discussion boards created by Univision for baseball fans,in the south the Braves control the whole market, many states, during our 14 straight championships run we were the most popular baseball team in America,we were on TBS the cable superstation with lots of fans all over America
@MrSouthphillyitalian we lost one game and we won alot of games so big deal,we are in first place, falcons look strong again, the trashers will trash those punk flyers and send those little sissys flying back to philly, another thing Atlanta ha bank of America and alot of large American banking instution and fedral reserve, despite the economy the city is still doing better than alot of places and has jobs unlike alot of places and looks alot cleaner than philly, you lost mcnab, falcons own you punks
@TolitoGangster if i recall the thrashers won 1 playoff game in nhl history lol, hey buddy we got the mint where federal money is printed wtf r sayin atlanta is a shit town compared to philly
@TolitoGangster ???? What ?....bigger fan base???....LOL, I have been in Mexico, California and Arizona, and I can tell u there are NO Atlanta fans here; I do recognize Braves as an excellent team during the 90's, although they just won 1 ring; they were good this year, too bad they came up short to the postseason; I feel terrible too since Im a Boston fan LOL.
@johnstone2010 that's a bunch of crap, the Braves were on TBS TV for 30 years and in the San Francisco series they were alot of Braves fans, alot of Braves fans from Mexico always post on the Univision site aswell as on the Braves website,in Mexico the Braves and Yankees were the only two teams on Televisa until TBS and WGN came to Mexico and then they had the Braves,Cubs,White Sox and Yankees, but the MLB Network is now in Mexico, they can now watch other teams they like, the Cardinals are popular.
@altamuramarc Huge yanks fan here and the reason for this and your right about it is the 96 team was their first title win in 18 years and had to rally from 0-2 in series. The 1998 won 114 games and 125 inc playoffs and is considered one of the best of all time. 1999 they just kind of kept it rolling with not as much wins and swept through the braves. Obviously the 2000 yanks played in the subway series so that gets attention
The 2009 Yankees healed new york city from sept 11,Matsui delivered the glory back days back to new york, the new york giants winning the superbowl in a miracle against boston's new england patriots, those were the special moments that made new york magical and despite sept 11th the city won in the end,won 2 huge major championships and new york is more popular than ever and better than it's ever been,GOD loves new york and it's people,it is a special town,I'm a Atlanta Braves fan & I love N.Y. :)
@TolitoGangster You obviously are not a Braves fan, after saying all that stuff about New York. You are a Yankee fan!! The Yanks beat "your team" the Braves, twice when the Braves coiuld have won those 2 World Serieses of 1996 and 1999, and you praise them. The Yankee fans don't praise your chokers the Braves, and they don't respect the 1995 Braves, so why would you like them? I agree about the 9/11 comment though, and that is a good thing for New York and their fans.
@xhemexx Atlanta won the 1995 World Series so we arent chokers, after 9-11 2001 if the Braves werent in the World Series then that meant I wanted the Yankees and Mets to win for New York and I wanted the Giants and Jets to win one in football, the New York Giants and Yankees championships in 2008 and 2009 was a victory for America at the time, millions of American sports fans felt like me,we dont cheer for New York anymore but at that time we did and it was good to see the Yankees beat Philadelphia
@xhemexx They should respect the braves! Why are the braves chokers because they lost some world series on paper they should have won?I hate conceited ass yankee fans, have you forgot 2003 when your team lost to the marlins?A team you guys should have beat right?I can't wait to see atlanta kick the shit out of new york in the 2010 series!OUR TEAM MAY HAVE UNDERACHIEVED BUT WE DON'T BUY TITLES!
I'm glad to hear that there are some non-yankee fans like yourself who are able to write a classy comment like that.
However, I don't really see how championships can heal what happened on 9/11/01. Nearly 3,000 people died that day and that left a big scar on families that will never be forgotten. It did not only affect New York, but also America as a whole. Still a good comment though.
@TolitoGangster ????? that might be true because the yankees won it but at the time the 2001 world series healed the city in game 3-4-5 and even tho they lost, they were destined to win those games, it was a moral booster for the whole city of New York
@TolitoGangster This is very nice of you to say...but it makes no sense, the super bowl and WS wins didn't contribute to the healing process of 9/11. What did help was getting back to baseball after 9-11, Piazzas HR the first game back and games 4 and 5 of the WS
@TolitoGangster This is very nice of you to say...but it makes no sense, the super bowl and WS wins didn't contribute to the healing process of 9/11. What did help was getting back to baseball after 9-11, Piazzas HR the first game back and games 4 and 5 of the WS
The Atlanta Braves won 14 division championships, they won 5 national league championships and the 1995 world championships, that's a world record in all sports,14 championships in 14 straight years and a total of 20 championships in 14 years counting the 5 national league championships and the 1995 world championship, for 14 years they won more than anyone but lately they signed some bad players and traded away too many good ones and have not won as much
I was 10 years old during this world series. I actually do remember the night; we had a Halloween party and my sister or dad wore a Yankees jersey and a hat. The next day my neighbor who's a huge fan decorated his front lawn with trash cans and pumpkins that said I LOVE NY YANKEES. I remember that too.
This video brings back great memories. This was the first World Series game I ever attended. My father and I were out in Section 49 of the left field bleachers, one row from the very back. We were really far from the action by I was just thrilled to be in the ballpark. We would never have guessed it then but this turned out to be the last time the Yankees would clinch a World Series at the original Yankees Stadium.
yeah I agree--haters can say all want but nothing is going to change the fact that the Yankees are and always will be the best. They're just jealous. All who say they suck are totally WRONG. Yeah, 27 championships sucks. Right.
@ChondoProductions Love to hear from the little clowns that are so jealous like u. And are their are even 10 Braves fans in ATL? Atl what a bad sports town I Love hearing lets go Yankee chants in their stadium, you know it makes these little bitches cry. gfscarface13 you bitch, LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLl
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
wow, you'd never know the yankees won when riveras final pitch was delivered. the crowd noise seems to stay the same the whole time. fuckin yankee fans are the most spoiled fucks in baseball. you dont deserve it, you dont deserve anything
10 years later MO closing it out Jorge catching it....awesome team awesome seats u have here....this stadium rocked so loud the new stadium doesnt ....i think its the way it was structured...
I love the yankees with all my heart, mind and soul, anything leftover from god goes to the yonkers. They are my team and will always be my team no matter what anyone throws at me for being a new york fan in Philadelphia. It's hard!!!!!!
Enough excuses. The Yanks beat Atlanta twice.

@TolitoGangster ???? What ?....bigger fan base???....LOL, I have been in Mexico, California and Arizona, and I can tell u there are NO Atlanta fans here; I do recognize Braves as an excellent team during the 90's, although they just won 1 ring; they were good this year, too bad they came up short to the postseason; I feel terrible too since Im a Boston fan LOL.
johnstone2010 4 months ago
@johnstone2010 that's a bunch of crap, the Braves were on TBS TV for 30 years and in the San Francisco series they were alot of Braves fans, alot of Braves fans from Mexico always post on the Univision site aswell as on the Braves website,in Mexico the Braves and Yankees were the only two teams on Televisa until TBS and WGN came to Mexico and then they had the Braves,Cubs,White Sox and Yankees, but the MLB Network is now in Mexico, they can now watch other teams they like, the Cardinals are popular.

I was 10 years old. For some reason this 99 team is the least covered of all of our 90's championships.
altamuramarc 1 year ago

TolitoGangster 2 years ago 21

TolitoGangster 1 year ago
@xhemexx They should respect the braves! Why are the braves chokers because they lost some world series on paper they should have won?I hate conceited ass yankee fans, have you forgot 2003 when your team lost to the marlins?A team you guys should have beat right?I can't wait to see atlanta kick the shit out of new york in the 2010 series!OUR TEAM MAY HAVE UNDERACHIEVED BUT WE DON'T BUY TITLES!

@TolitoGangster - The 2009 Yankees healed NYC from what happened on Sept. 11, 2001???? What? How did 9 people give this a thumbs up???
RichieD814 1 year ago
@TolitoGangster
Still a good comment though.
crazybaseballdude12 1 year ago
@TolitoGangster ????? that might be true because the yankees won it but at the time the 2001 world series healed the city in game 3-4-5 and even tho they lost, they were destined to win those games, it was a moral booster for the whole city of New York
playerdepimp 8 months ago

Ha you stupid haters the yankees are the best ever and the Sux and Mess are garbage, we own you you clowns.
twinsnyc 2 years ago 27
yeah I agree--haters can say all want but nothing is going to change the fact that the Yankees are and always will be the best. They're just jealous. All who say they suck are totally WRONG. Yeah, 27 championships sucks. Right.
