Ed Force One carries two captains(Bruce is one of them) and two first officers.

They trade off flying on each leg of the tour. Astraeus Airlines supplies what's known as an ACMI charter which stands for Aircraft Crew Maintenance and Insurance. Bruce is likely being paid by the band (through Astraeus for whom Bruce is a pilot) to fly.

The plane is custom made boing 757 a mixture of freight and traveling plane. This was said by Bruce in an interview for BBC I am sure its somewhere on youtube as well.

Being in my forties, its great to see a good role model for my son, who im educating in the world of 'real' musicianship, his hobbies of judo, guitar, and anything military will hopefully help him become a well rounded guy.. he would really like to fly helicopters, seeing this documentary has helped him realise that hard work can pay off. Positive role models.

The plane, a 757-200, is owned by Astraeur airline, the one that Dickinson pilot for. there is just some decal on the airplane when they are on tour.

Astaeus owned the aircraft at one time, while chartering Iron Maiden, but Fedex now owns the aircraft and has already converted it from passenger to freight. This aircraft is currently flying revenue freight around the domestic US.

When the Iron Maiden tour was completed, Astraeus had a passenger charter flight leg scheduled that had to be postponed overnight due to the passengers being uncomfortable with the tail art ("Eddie") on the vertical stabilizer. The tail art was removed before passengers boarded.
