anyone know the name of the prayer exactly so i can chant it?
I'm a throat singer and feel capable of doing this... just dont have the words... ide like them in the native language its in then ill get a translation somehow.... and if even both could be provided even better!!!!
They played these songs when I saw them live at palais montcalm in my city, Québec! I wasn't sure if I was about to like before I went there. But they were just awesome !:P
So... That's the kind of music that spurred on the horsemen of the steppes on their way from the depths of Mongolia to the soft core of Europa... Oustanding.
Look all this ethnic and race related comments under a good music !
Is this how you bunch show your respect to art ?
If anyone has a valuable info, please stop writing from your guts and put a citation, show a reference for God's sake !!
and what the hell with this being Turkic and all ? why the world goes in an upheval when someone says that the other is of Turkic origin ? If you dig deep enough, you will end up in Africa anyway, so what's the point ?
ignore the racist comments talking about ethnicity. but this is a music video so origin of the culture still matters. since tuva is near altai mountains, which are thought to be the birthplace of all turkic languages and culture.
that is obvious that tuvans have their original way along with the natural similarities with the other turkic-mongolic peoples, but it's tough to blame commenters here for trying to relate themselves with these nice people and their music
@3moonlightdrive Mongolians related to the Hugarians? I'm not saying you're wrong, but could you please enlighten me/us? Not being Hungarian, or from another country conquered by Genghis, is fail to see how both relate.
its not exactly known where hungarians came from to europe, but there is an assumption that from mongolia. we lived exactly as mongolians..... in big tents, our clothes were similar, we were a nation with horses, we even looked asian-like. i am not an expert in this question, but when i heard this music i felt i know where i belong or rather where "im from".
Acum o saptamana a fost in Brasov Sainkho Namtchylak care mai canta cu ei, a avut un mic concert si si'a prezentat stilul de cantec. A promis ca se va reintoarce curand cu cei de la Huun Huur Tu in Romania.
this is a video showing a very uncommon style of music (at least to the western world), an interesting display of culture and pretty cool music by the way... and people waste time and space in useless arguments over ethnic and linguistic origins, so sad...
I saw HuunHuurTu in concert in Frankfurt, Germany in 1996 and it was THE most memorable concert experience of my life! the music is so moving. I also saw Tuvan street performers in Germany during the winter of 2006/2007 and I was again mesmerized by their music. Phenomenal!!!
elnyka, the country that is called Turkey today is really the last remnant of the Imperial Ottoman, the population a mixture of local Armenian, Greek, Slav and of course a small percentage of Central Asian Turkic. Pan Turkism is a recent movement that played a key role in breakup of Ottoman empire. Pan Turkism continues to this day and you can google or wiki on this to find more.
Elnyka first thing I'd want to tell you is not to bother talking to someone who can't understand what you are saying hehe. I kinda feel bad for you writing all this academic info if no one listens. Bro there's more to it than the linguists are saying. Lets put it this way; Natives are red race and Turkic people are red race. I'll explain a lil more about what I mean and the connection between Natives and Turks. By Turks I mean Turkic folks in Asia and the Arctic, not Republic of Turkye.
Every single language group in existence today, Turkic, Japonic, Tungus, Indo-European, Dravidian, Bantu, and all the dozens languages in the Americas first emerged around 8,000BC to 6,000BC.
That's 4,000 to 6,000BC after the ancestors of Native Americans became isolated from the rest of the world.
This is not counting the possibility of even earlier migrations through the Bering straight and other possible migrations via Polynesia.
The correct statement is that there is a remote and yet direct genetic and probably linguistic connection between the Na-Dene and a an ancient group in Siberia, probably PaleoSiberian, with all evidence suggesting the connection with the Yenisean.
This is not the same as saying 'Tuvans are even related to native americans from northe america' which implies a wholesome connection between Turkiks groups and every single Native ethnic group in North America.
Furthermore, the genetic and linguistic connection with the Na-Dene is not clearly stablish. For all we know, it could (and most likely is) with PaleoSiberian groups that preceded Turkik and Tungus populations.
exactly, some, in particular SOME of the Na-Dene having a remote connection with Yenisean populations. I'm quite familiar with that.
But you say they were related TO native americans (meaning all). The Na-Dene are a component (and a minority) of the Native populations in North America.
This is not even counting the much greater diversity on the entire of the Americas.

Understand this. Native American groups and languages evolved in isolation, taking up form thousands of years after they left Siberia.
Turkic groups (or any other language group in the world) also evolved AFTER that migration.
You have two choices:
1. Educate yourself, or
2. Talk about things you are not educated, and formulate wrong points of view just to support a nationalistic agenda.
Your choice. If you don't understand this, I'm not going to waste further time with you.
