very surprising that this take was released. botched the melody of a classic. and then to blow only on a couple of keys! part of the beauty of this tune is the way it cycles through ALL of the keys.
Hey Jimbo - What's the prob -- this is a good take. Not clear if you're criticizing him for playing only two notes (keys), or limiting the pitch (to two?). And the melody is minimally interpretive, and sounds fine to me.
IMO, Thierry did a nice job with this beautiful Evans piece -- would you believe it was originally titled "The Crest Song" for a toothpaste commercial? I particularly like the soaring 3/4-time improv, along with his triplets and chords, all very Evansesque.
