This was my senior year at UT. I was at this game. I had heard so much chatter about how Vince Young was a better version of Michael Vick; I was skeptical. But the dude blew me away, and you can see why.
The broadcast footage doesn't capture the energy of the student section as we realized that this highly-touted (and possibly overhyped) recruit was every bit as awesome as we had been promised.
The fact of the matter is.. even if VInce Young never has success in the nfl He will always be one of the greatest college players of all time and One of Texas's biggest legends to play the game.
He's a decent runner at best with an okay arm. When you throw screens to 4.2 WR and RB's all day, it make your job so much easier. A typical college system QB.
He's gonna get exposed in the league
To me Tommy Frazier was the best that I seen. He ran the Option, could throw from under center and was crazy accurate. He broke his leg and wasn't the same.

@Hurley1080 sorry but no hes not...VY had ONE great year in 2005 he had a good year in 2004 and a great performance in the rose bowl against michigan but overall that year wasn't as fantastic as people may lead you to believe, Tim Tebow had 3 Amazing years.

@MrHORSEtheMAN Tim Tebow went 9-4 the year he won the hiesman. He was 1-6 when trailing at halftime his entire career. Vince Young had the ability to WIN games in the clutch and he was a better scrambler.

@Smo0ochMyGooch idk man i wouldnt say that Tebow was merely sprinkles in that offense I mean look at the stats he rushed for 8TD's and 469 yards and threw for 5TD's and 358 yards so rushing and passing he accounted for over 800 yards and 13TD's, there are starters that dont get that many total yards or TD's in a season.

This was my senior year at UT. I was at this game. I had heard so much chatter about how Vince Young was a better version of Michael Vick; I was skeptical. But the dude blew me away, and you can see why.
The broadcast footage doesn't capture the energy of the student section as we realized that this highly-touted (and possibly overhyped) recruit was every bit as awesome as we had been promised.

Dont feed into that ESPN Tebow hype.
He's a decent runner at best with an okay arm. When you throw screens to 4.2 WR and RB's all day, it make your job so much easier. A typical college system QB.
He's gonna get exposed in the league
To me Tommy Frazier was the best that I seen. He ran the Option, could throw from under center and was crazy accurate. He broke his leg and wasn't the same.

I don't think he broke his leg....he had blood clots in one of his legs from some disease side effect. Look it up on wiki.

Tommy was an awesome QB
But........... Vince who holds a record that might not ever be broken (3,000 yds passing, 1,000 yds rushing in the same season), 30-2 as a starter, then the National Championship against USC, best performance ever by one player. over 200 yds passing and rushing. Not to mention every other game he played was unreal. I think as far as highlights, numbers, and heroics in the biggest games, Vince Young had the best single season that I have ever seen or heard of.

33-3 as a starter. Only player ever to win MVP of three national championship games. 62-24 slaughter of #2 Florida.

Vince Young has the heart desire and leadership that tebow has, but he's a better runner, better passer, never lost a bowl game, and had possibly the greatest performance by a single person ever
Tebow is good, but remember when he won the heisman, his team that year wasnt very good AND they lost michigan, when florida won their 2 NC it wasnt cause of the offense and tebow, it was because of the defense, and Tebow didnt have the best game against oklahoma this past season
