It's really hard to complete dislike Tammy Faye, but how seriously can you take an over-the-top, overly made up screaming cry baby that constantly sobs that her husband's network is broke while she has at least five big mansions and a huge closet of extremely expensive fur coats? Yes indeed, Tammy Faye is singing in a gay bar in the sky!
If you would like to know more about how the Graham house was saved, you should view "Brad Lacey saves the Billy Graham Home".
It is a shame the Graham's have not paid tribute to Brad, and for moving his grave. He was buried where he had the home restored. Franklin Graham promised Brad's wife, that the grave marker would be moved with the house, and a tribute to him with the story of his historic effort to save the home would be at the home's new location. A promise not fulfilled.
I used to live right behind this place in Regent Park and I remember as a kid roaming all inside the empty castle and water park. Friends and I would roam there but we'd hurry and leave before it got dark because it was incredibly spooky. Haha. I may go back and trespass again. Lol.
There are a lot of old abandoned amusement parks all over America there's this and DogPatch USA in Arkansas are the two big ones. Don't forget malls too!
Haha it's funny that I live in there now. The place is being restored and it's really interesting to see all the history behind it. I went into the main kitchen and it was crazy...potato peels still on the ground from 20 years ago.
Wow is this place still there? I remember passing by this years ago on a trip. It was exactly what I imagined a city what look like after a nuclear fallout. Complete ghost town. Yet stores were still open for business for the tourists. It was definitely a spooky place.
I got into this place late one night in '89 or so. A hurricane had recently struck, Jim was in jail, and the place was creepy. I saw the train tipped over on it's track, the parking lot had weeds taller than me growing from the joints in the asphalt. Fun memory.
Thank you very much for putting this on. I have never seen any of Heritage USA but have been curious. When I was a boy I wanted to move to Heritage when I grew up.
Say, Please remind me, could you print here the link to order one of your special art Tee shirts? I bet those incredible, original paintings of yours make awesome coffee cups! You are a great artist, Dan!
I posted the other photos of Heritage USA on (dantraveling DOT com) under photos, just scroll to the bottom. I also put a photo of the Bureau of Information from High Point NC. (thought you'd like)
Great pictures Dan!...They were images that clearly show the decay of a once thriving place...It is sad to think about what might have been...had not Jim Bakker reached to far...
i live right near this building!!!
