I can understand your review, but I'd say you've got to love romance films to enjoy it and maybe men wouldn't like it so much. I didn't think I'd like it when I went to see it but I LOVED it so much. It's funny and sweet and overall a really good film. That's my opinion :]

I'm a guy, and I love romantic comedies, but I hate cliched ripoffs with no soul or point. So, naturally, I did NOT like The Proposal. It's terribly structured, and it's very, very bland. It's the worst romcom I've ever seen.

My question is why would Sandra Bullock's character be deported to Canada? You'd think a book publisher would be rich enough to at least get nationalized. But I guess that's answered in the movie.

i think part of the charm of their relationship and how he starts falling for her is seeing her as an actual person instead of his boss. what he first knew about her were just facts. once he got to truly know her, they became apart of who she is. i think it's cute. i liked ur review tho. i subbed. :)

Very credible review, AG. I agree with with all your major review points regarding this move. Because ROM/COM is so difficult, Bullock and Reynolds are so likable, and the supporting cast -- especially Steenburgen, O'Hare, and Ackerman-- are so resonant ... I would definately recommend this movie! Keep up the good work!

Ryan Reynolds career is interesting to me. He started off making college sex comedies, and now jumps back and forth from blockbuster action movies to romantic comedies. I like the guy, but he's too funny to be in this cheesy romance crap. I still like him the best in the Blade: Trinity.
