Just as sharing has increased, what has equally increased is shady patent licensing, which is essentially the death if independent innovation. Shady patent practices eliminate the possibility of shared creation, because if you need to turn a screw to finish you creation, shady patent attorneys will be suing you for turning that screw

Just bringing another idea to this one...Isn't that all true with the exception of social networking sites? Hunches are better thought out and widespread when they are done in person and you can empathize through real human contact about real issues, as opposed to "these are the shoes that I bought today" "Emily likes this"

We are less likely to be self conscious about our ideas due to the distance between people and so we may be more likely to judge things with more common sense. We all know that you are more willing to interrupt or criticise on the internet because it seems more socially acceptable, as I am doing now.

@karenmelissa002 I agree with you on the empathy side, in terms of the fact that it maybe helps you identify what issues are important and have the greatest impact, but I think the ability to step back and reflect is equally important, because emotion can hinder your thinking. It's about self discipline at the end of the day. Do you waste your time talking bullshit or do you spend it sharing ideas and forming bonds with people and creating, or using the net to enhance your external life!

I'd also like to search for other videos while watching this video. It's called multi-tasking. I know it's possible...or I wouldn't have been able to imagine the idea. As for searching for other videos while still watching this video, you could type into the search bar while watching this video another video of your choice. It would then take you to a new page where your current video is still playing but at the side of the page and the different links to other videos are on the other side?

@karanzip Do you know how stop-motion works? Do something - take a picture - change things slightly - take another picture - and so forth. There's plenty of time to screw up and correct errors between shots. My guess is that the artist is quite skilled and does not make too many mistakes, or the process would be too cumbersome.

This is pretty good, but what about Imitation?This doesn't really discuss that which I believe is the real issue in the Development of Ideas and learning- I think you shouldn't need to borrow or should I say 'COPY or STEAL' other peoples ideas to make as your own, if you have the ability to think for yourselves. Applying your own experience as primary reference instead of excepting things for what they are because its easier or others believe so is not the answer.
