Hey, could you post a link for your settings config files? i have a feeling theres something in there that lets it run faster. it would be good to see autoexec.cfg and system.cfg and maybe server.cfg, but i doubt there would be any settings in the server file.

@ekst0r lol i was about to say b/s or fake. have you tired dropping the details and raising the resolution. i used to play like that but i think i like higher resolutions and lower details better. you might be surprised. the higher resolution looks good no matter the settings i think.

@TheRonron1994 honestly that would be a hard choice. i would think bother would run it fine. before you upgrade, i would look at the gpu. maybe a better video card would be the best bet. also if you are on a budget i think amd would offer more the money. i went with them this time around and for $80 my cpu isn't bad. i've also heard of a program to tweak everything from texture details to tho shadows. it could be a myth though.

Is because the game and Cryengine 3 is more optimized. Crysis 1 is not very well optimized compared to Crysis 2.

Crysis 1 is about 10x more graphically intensive than crysis 2 when running both at max settings

crysis 2 is meant for consoles also so of course they tuned it down abit

crysis was meant to be for pc only

if anything crysis 1 is better optimized considering how much more graphically intensive it is compared to crysis 2

@FullM3tal7ack3t It's not big a deal enough, there's cache, front side bus and how many operations per cycle the thing can do. It's a completely different architecture basically built from the ground up as well! A Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz can very well beat a Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz.

I can run the crysis 2 mp demo with~10-25fps on my AMD Athlon 64 3000+@2.3ghz and an hd4670 (the hd4670 is enough to play the game on max with a normal resolution like 1280x1024). I'm sure the campaign will run a lot better... cuz its the campaign/singleplayer.

I'd recommend turning off as much of windows7 as possible before running any game on an old cpu. I used "Windows7manager" and my own knowledge* about windows XD.

Update windows... defrag? clean registry? turn off any stupid Anti-virus software and other programs which u dont need... experiment!!! Overclock?

I read about your problem. Do u use programs like Skype, Steam, Anti Virus and etc when u play, because those reduce your performance alot . Also i don't have a much experience with ATI/AMD graphic cards, but look somewhere for driver settings to optimize your GPU. For now i can say only this and if u want reply. Cya!

Is your GRFX card an xfx, HIS or sapphire. these will let you use high performance gpu settings

single core cpu's really run slow on win 7, tell me the following please so i can help

1. open up task man and tell me how much processes you are currently running

2. tell me your gpu's core and memory speeds

3. what is your psu's watt and voltage output (necessary for OC)
