@Ichimaru60 more like how predictable people really are, playing soldier is all about reading your opponent and taking advantage of their predictability. Although I imagine he does air shots intuitively.

The class most able to stand alone and succeed is probably the soldier, rocket launcher +shot gun means you shouldn't feel disadvantaged in most combat situations if you play it right. Don't use the DH unless you can aim as good as this guy in the video, it's for sniper level aiming and only does a small amount more dmg. Don't expect to always win no matter what though, Heavies you meet inches away can still kill you and good demos can make soldiers cry in the situation.

A question for you.. I can shoot the bots in tr_airshot all day from different angles and whatever..but I can't ever do that well in game. I realize I'm going to have to get used to the differences in pings so... When you were still learning did you shoot a shitload of rockets at people flying around until you got it? Is it essential to use cl_interp 0 ?I'm still working on my game. Thanks for any input.

It's probably also got to do with air strafing as well. and the pressure of them shooting at you

just practice my brotha. there is no technique really to practice. its just trial and error really. i would practice on granery and badland mostly. some people air strafe which is why its easier in tr_airshot. predict where they are gonna move or what you would do in that situation. don't worry about airshots to much these frag videos make you think that evert frag is an airshot. when a chance to shoot someone in the air presents itself just try if you miss aim for they land. hope that helped

Imho a veteran soldier is THE most dangerous class to run into. 90% of pyros are w+m1, heavies have a spin-up grace period, snipers will try to no-scope you...but soldiers.

To make a succesfull airshot you must aim where he flies

Most just shoot below, and it isn't easy to airshot

it depends on where they are traveling, i usually aim right at them but do so just before they reach the climax of the jump. if they are falling then you have to judge their distance from you versus rate of fall

Airshotting is very tricky, and until you're proficient, I'd just say hit them however you can. Back when I first started practicing airshots, what I would do was not fire a rocket at where they would be in the air, but where they would land, because that way I could at least assure I got splash damage in. Then, when you're good at that, start aiming for them in the air. And finally when you can do that, THEN you can start aiming for specific body parts lol

Medic is always credit to team. If you ask me, I think the medic is probably the second most important part of an offensive team, rivaled(sp) only by a soldier or heavy.

I rarely see those in competitive TF2. Usually I see 2 soldiers, 2 scouts, a demoman and a medic. That's the basic 6v6 layout I see. But yes, if sentries, teles and snipers are present, I could see a spy being useful.
