Y'know, some of these cars probably ran just fine, they had to get where they are somehow. Why the hell would someone just drive a potential gold mine into the woods to rot?
they don't look like they are in the junkyard, but somewhere in the middle of a jungle! lol, but great vid! very fitting song! awesome work! sad to see such classic cars like this! but thanks for sharing!
For anyone interested, I'd like to trade my '72 Monte (in good shape) for a restorable '69 or '67 Chevelle. You can see my car on YouTube by searching "vinyl top 1972 monte" and it will be the first result on top. My car runs great, has very little rust, no major dents or damage, has the original paint job, around 114K original miles, stored every winter since the early 90's. I live in Ohio. I love my car, but I've wanted a '69 Chevelle since I was 14 or 15 years old!
It's amazing to think that these cars would've once been parked in someone's drive-way; taken to a diner or drive-in movie; they could have even been driven on someone's first date way back in the day. Now they're buried in brush; covered in moss and forgotten. I was born in the 90's and even I feel reminiscent right now :P
The excitement of looking at what can Hajimemashite BGM is the best photos. What is this song BGM tracks what anyone says! ? Kindly let me know. Excuse my English.
in South Africa, when people wanted to replace their old cars with new one's, the cheapest option was to push it into a valley or deep into a forest. all I.D. was removed from the car.. really amazing pics come from them 50-60 years later =)
@jd6ss WTF?? What are you smoking? South African's NEVER just pushed their cars into a valley or into a forest. SA is one of the countries that kept their cars for as long as possible. The economy was so tight they couldnt afford new cars. Just have a look around you, there's plenty cars 30 years old and older still driving around. And, the trade in market for 2nd hand cars always was and still is a VERY lucrative business. Get your facts straight before you post CRAP on YouTube!
@skatesneakerlover riiight, thats why iv'e been living here for nearly 20 years, first hand experience of this. so if you do not mind, go get a life and stop accusing me of lying =) enjoy your miserable life!
@jd6ss And 20 years makes you an expert? All it means is you are a KID who thinks he knows everything. Its so obvious you know nothing about South African history, nor the economy at the time. When you reach your 40's then you'll maybe know something and be taken seriously. But in the meantime, carry on being a kid, cause thats all you are.
@skatesneakerlover listen you no life bastard, i have way better things to do than have a debate about shit to an idiot. so can you please leave me and my statement alone maybe? you need to get a better life than watch video's all day mate. Methinks i will go take a ride on my Harley now =) which i bought, from working fucking hard and not watching youtube video's all day.
@skatesneakerlover Age doesn't mean a thing you fucking asshole. I'm 17 I OWN MY 69 PONTIAC FIREBIRD. And I bet you anymoney I know more about history in GENERAL then you do. asshole.
@455pontiacfirebird You STUPID CUNT! Maybe if you READ more and used your brain more than your mouth, you would have less SHIT to say about things. Amasing how a snot nosed kid always seems to think he knows more than a grown up. Can't ever tell them or teach them anything. They've always been there, done that, and know it all. BUT, put them in the REAL world, and they know SHIT. And thats all that comes out of their mouths too. You know SHIT about what ACTUALLY happened in S/Africa's economy.
@skatesneakerlover Age has nothing to do with it. YOU STUPID MOTHER FUCKING CUNT SUCKING PIECE OF FUCKING SHIT UGH bpygbayi Rage, Doesn't do anything does it? I'm making a fuckiong point you piece of shit. go jerk off and commit suicide you piece of shit.
One thing always goin through my mind is where in the world did you find these cars??? In what state and what city was that in within that state?? Id like more than anything else if someone could answer me those couple of questions!! Id be really greatful for a honest reply.
@roknikov if you refer to the metal brown painted, it's a 57 Dodge. I don't know what specific model. The following is a Studebaker Lark. Hope it helps.
@roknikov which one do you refer to, about the fenders difference?
I know for sure that 0:45 is a 58 Cadillac (but I don't know what model it is); 1:26 is a '57 Dodge (Royal), and at 1:41 is another '57 Dodge (maybe a Lancer? I can't tell what model is)
If I ever went to one of these junkyards I'd be an emotional wreck...I'm cryin' already :'( Poor cars. All they do is serve us and this is how we thank them....UGH!!!
I'm one of those guys that put his money where his mouth is. In 1994 I pulled a 1957 Chrysler Imperial Crown 4 door Hardtop from a field out in Loma Linda California. 392 Hemi. The car has a few rust holes, but is not a rust bucket. Interior is bad but all there for patterns and reupholstering. Every mechanical part is there. It is in the back of my garage. Funny part, I have only sat in it ONE time, to steer it into my garage. Some day I will get to it!!!
@bh14231 Hi! I haven't noticed any 58 Impala. But at 0:45 there's a 58 CADDY!! Don't know exactly the model, but it looks like one at top of the line, since it's a 4 door hardtop (no pillars in doors). Greetings.
@verano1960s Looks like a lot of good part cars and some rod restorations. You don't scrap those, regardless of condition. And being that they've been sitting for about 30-40 years, you can probably apply to get new titles considering they were parked before computers were used for saving car info....
It hurt my hart to see a caddy suffering in the cold like that these cars deserve better I bet every single one of them can tell you a very interesting story
im with VintageAutoFan on this one, while i love old cars and would love to see them restored, a lot of these are too far gone, and if they were to be restored a lot of people wouldn't do them justice, taking shortcuts and not giving them the detail they deserve. Plus its kinda cool to walk through the forrest and stumble on these beauties resting in peace.
This is absolutely horrible to see such great cars wasting away!! I myself spotted an old big body Pontiac Grand Prix that I would love to have just as it is
I don't think it's that easy to restore the majority of these cars, it takes ALOT of work, time and money just to get them running.. I'm no expert, but from the look of some of these wrecks, you'd obviously have to get a new engine, re-do the wiring, new interior, etc... so you can't just say that you can restore them...
Oh C'mon, I'd bet with some fresh oil fresh gas, some starting fluid, tires, and maybe taking the mice out of the carburetor, some of them would run just fine!
@Xenon260X well its much like now. when cars get old people don't want them anymore and throw them in the junk yard. But now people want to take them out. I feel sickened looking at those cars all rusted and neglected.
@acunchevy54 then lets travel back in time 50 years. you had an rundown "old" Ford that wont work for you anymore and it would cost to much to drive it to the junkyard. what would you do?
i dont like that happen to the poor cars :c but you still need to see it how it was for them
thay saw that old buick as we see an old Honda or Mazda.
@addeson u might b right. if i had one of those and wouldnt interested in restoring ill just put a sign though.... (free old pick up truck) i own a 54 chevy pick up truck that has lots of work for me... i've had it for a year and the work never ends its closer and closer every time though.haha
@deathcoltd if i had a time machine i would go back to 197* when these cares probably started getting dumped, park them where my house was built and find them close to or in my garage the world would be a better place and i wouldnt be crying right now ='^(
@deathcoltd , I love people like you. You see the car its self and not the work thats invoved to restore it. If I had a chance Id get each and everyone of those cars to where we could say theres still hope in them. What Im seeing in this vid is really more than a crying shame. Those rides fully restored, would be jewels on wheels. Watching that vieo hurts. Everybody thats into cars would know exactly what me and "deathcoltd", are talkin about. You´re a great guy.
if those cars were fixed, people would pay for them and they would be on the road
