@DexterHaven49 Ok man dont have to get all uppity >>, i still reckon my opinion holds to some degree despite what Sampras said. Just for the record despite all the conditions, Sampras was no quitter.
i guess all those backhands from sampras that dropped short and allowed leconte to capitalise on were some of the reasons why his backhand suffered so much criticism but honestly with all those grand slams under his belt his backhand's weakness was almost always covered for by net approaches and his forehand. Leconte is a great player for being able to expose sampras so much :3 Both great players and thx for the upload ^^
@ritz9870 No, read the book by Sampras. He hated Davis Cup. Didn't want to be there. He felt so alone and tense out there in hostile territory. The team meetings that week really bugged him, wasted his time. HE FELT AWKWARD BEFORE THIS MATCH, DID NOT WANT TO PLAY. YOU CAN'T JUDGE HIS GAME FAIRLY ON A MATCH HE DID NOT WANT TO PLAY. Look how he disposed of his rivals in 1990 and then in 1993 Wimbledon and beyond. This was not a good example of his play. He hated this match and quit.
