Re IPhone. Apple do whatever THEY want. I don't think they care what the customers want. Why else would they have fixed memory in their phone? Buy a new phone to get an extra 8Gb of memory? With Android you just pay $20 then pop it in the slot.
Yes, its 4g Vs 3g. BUT its still a valid test. Right now you can buy Iphone on 3g, slow, OR HTC Velocity on 4g VERY VERY fast. 100 seconds to download a 350Mb movie? to a PHONE? true. CRAZY FAST. I also noted that the speed test depends on if TELSTRA are hosting the speedtest on not. Just log off then restart the speed test & it should end up TELSTRA. The 4g is so fast. Its the OTHER end that slows it down.
My Velocity 4G just downloaded a 350mb HDTV show in 100 minutes. Sure its the network that is FAST. But so is the phone. It's faster than most HOME BROADBAND...WOW.
The caption at the start if the video is VERY misleading - the HTC is the only 4G LTE handset out of this group, and it is the only handset connected to 4G in this demo. The Apple and the Samsung are both 3G WCDMA/HSPA phones. This means they are not connected to the same radio network as the HTC. So just be aware when you watch this video, it's not a comparison of HTC vs Apple vs Samsung; it is a comparison of packet uplink / downlink performance on the 3G and 4G networks.
A more objective demo would be to show the same test on two HTC Velocity 4Gs side by side, with one on the 4G network and the other forced onto the 3G network.
You fools. The "test" wasn't on the phone's. They simply got the most common phone's on the market with 3G and then put it up against the Velocity which is 4G to give you a general idea on the speed the difference the 4G has on 3G. It's a GENERAL mobile network speed test not phone test.
@joshsdad1 actually, the 4g network has been in press release for about 4 months, the actual wireless devices are out, and even before the release of 4g there were hundreds of people using them. 4g is always going to be faster, even after they offer connection to the homes
those baggin this video are obviously isheep. The fact is - Can your iphone access the 4G network? The answer is NO - Why - Because your iphone uses old technology. Apple may have changd the phone market but they fall so far behind so quickly. Enjoy your 3g speeds you sooks!!!!!!!
@joshsdad1 iphone uses old technology? most phone can only access 3G in Australia no use having a 4G phone unless you live/work in the CBD. it will be at least a year or two before 4G becomes the norm, by then iphone 5 will be 4G.
@phrO1986 Actually you will find that the 4G network has been available in Australia with Telstra for quite some time now. Might be worth knowing what your talking about before you talk
@joshsdad1 Really? FYI the velocity will be the FIRST 4g phone launched in australia. . what I said still applies. The 4g network has noone on it. Wait untill it becomes oversold and congested. Speed will then depend on the area and how many users are connected to the same tower. STFU and sit down
@Nik91T Well da, the point of it is to show the fastest one, thats it. The iphone cant beat it, and that is the point. It doesnt matter if you are racing a 2002 Lancer and a 2012 BMW, the race would show the clear winner! Thats what comparing does lol

its much better to test one phone at a time for network tests, not like doing all at once where phones compete to get access to the network

the 4g network has not been released in Australia yet. This is not a real test that takes into account network congestion and day to day use.
