  • I see you've closed your Tube account Deeperpurple1952 so this is going to be a slightly one sided coversation. Oh well, All The Best wherever you are...........................................

  • Burn)

  • I was there too!!

  • @vectragt2310 me three

  • I was there!!!

  • Was you there really???

What do you remember of that concert?

  • I reamember it was a greate concert,i sow them before in the same tour in Turin bur Ritchie was not a the top, there he was fantastic and all the band plays inspired,it was kind a dream to see my favorite band play like this!

  • I have the complete bootleg. It's great.

  • Amazing!

    Blackmore Forever!

  • Blackmore looks relaxed in this video, on the dvd from 93 he was as stiff as a 90 year old man.

  • There is a story behind why Blackmore acted the way he did during the DVD show you mention. A combination of a few things that really pissed him off...

  • yes, he did not allow camerals on the stage and they had. As far as I know he didn´t want to be filmed at all. Also he wasn´t happy with Gillan´s voice condition for making a live video. and few things more which happened through the whole tour...

  • Great stuff. Thanks!!!

  • lol... the camera guy must have a thing for Gillan... ha ha

  • As always awesome!!!!!

  • great stuff. I went to Manchester and Brum on this tour (the videoed one with the water) which were nothing like this. well, that's ritchie for you

  • what are you talking about, the machester show was a very good one. I have the boot from both the munchen and manchester shows and I can say Munchen is not better. Maybe Speed King was played better on Munchen but overall the Manchester show was great. Brum is another story :D

  • Captainjib..I was at the Brum NEC concert with my brother, and considering Ritchie had a strop on all night he played really well and the concert was very good as the DVD Come Hell Or High water shows.

  • @Deeperpurple1952 Lucky you, did you manage to get a good view of the infamous water throwing incident, ha ha. Gillan's wife Bron got a soaking at the side of the stage, none too pleased (she's interviewed on Ian's 2007 docu dvd, well worth checking out if you haven't already). Aside from Ritchie not making an entrance until about halfway thru the gig , the show was ok imo (got in on VHS and highlights cd). I also have the Stuttgart cd which is better imo. Saw them in '96 & '98. Top Band.

  • @DCHurlford Halfway through the gig? Ritchie came out late for "Highway Star" and that's it.

  • @JasonHi Cheers for the reply, i stand corrected. When i saw the gig for the first time back in about '96 i started to panic somewhat when Ritchie didn't come in on his cue in HS but i suppose it didn't matter that much as Lord and Paice kept the intro ticking over until he did make his entrance. Shame the old major disagreements between Messrs Gillan and Blackmore couldn't be resolved as that lineup had something extra special imo. That said, i do enjoy DP's colourful career as a whole.

  • Hell Yea!

  • Amazing, thank you very much for this! You can't beat Blackmore-Lord. ;)
