I love how the show to square a room, retarded. The corners of each room could have extra plaster and metal, or fault in framing. Measure four or five points on the wall then snap a line. It will give a better picture of what the walls are doing.

I'd hate to be the guy to lug that carpet out of the house unless they're re-using it. It's best to cut it into manageable sections about 3-4 foot wide, roll it up and discard.

You can also use the pry bar to PULL the boards into the grove when you get close to the opposite wall where you don't have room to use the mallet.
