  • THAT'S NOT A SMALL ENGINE!!

  • I want this on a go kart

  • It's great until you blow the piston and rod out the side, ours did that and now our 2nd one is starting to do it >:( Briggs and stratton all the way!

  • @MrTpengineer lol my briggs blew a connecting rod right out the side

then i bought a kohler from the junkyard

briggs and kohler are good engines but you have to treat them right

like good gas every now and then

oil change every 6 months air filters

    clean the carb

i let a tecumseh rot for a few years cleaned the carb ran good

  • @ror3dracer01 Yea, but Kohler has most of the problems, if you blew the rod out of a Briggs then that's bad, they have thicker connecting rods than kohlers do! Any way couldn't be any worse then Tecumseh...

  • @MrTpengineer Mopar is worse than a Tecumseh lol

  • @ror3dracer01 I knew that, that's why I drive Ford :)

  • well for me its chevy or nothing :)

  • @MrTpengineer Pffffffffffffffffffff Busted electronics, tranny's and valves no thanks :) We had a Z71 and it had so many problems, that was only half...

  • @MrTpengineer dudge my dad had the exact same problems with his z71 they are horribly unreliable

  • @coltonwithano yup.

  • 40 horsepower! How many GPM is that pump?

  • fuggin kohlers are awsome engines got an eight on my go cart its tough

  • how much would be a used engine like this?

  • you have to TRY to make a mess on these engines when the filter is changed. There is a spring loaded cup that follows the filter up as it is unscrewed. By the time the filter is unscrewed to the end of the threads, most of the oil has drained back the the sump. neat design

  • for one thing that is not a small engine! LOL

  • @JDMowerGuy1998 Engines up too 200hp are considered a small engine

  • thats a stupid design they put the oil filter with the hole facing down so when you have to change it oil goes all over the engine

  • @pivotboy63 just take the plug out and poke a hole in the filter...

  • @mageac what are you talking about? i mean that since the oil filter is facing down, when you take the filter off to change it, oil comes out of the filter and all over the engine

  • @pivotboy63 if you poke a hole in it it loses its suction and the oil flows out of the filter, just give a minute or 2

lots of cars have upside down filters, i rather the conventional mounted ones, but its the best solution

  • @mageac ahh ok now i understand thanks for clarifying

  • Can't believe my eyes, looks like a spin-on oil filter front and center. I'd like to see what a mess it would be to change it.

  • i got 5 k321 kohlers all from cubcadets for spares they all run i got them free from junk yards all i had to do was clean the carbs

  • i dont care much for kohler's engines after the k-series, but thats insane

  • its really really hard for anyone to beat the durability and power of a K series, isnt it. i have a K301 12 hp on my john deere 112, its an awesome little engine. the only other engine that equals the k series is onan. everything else is just average. k series and onans are outstanding, the best ever made

  • lol, i dont like onans because when they break down, they are expensive and hard to work on. but they are awesome engines.
