With the mini mushroom,Mario can basically futtler jump by shaking the controller to spin.That spin move keeps him from falling faster than he normally would.Iam still studying this game to death atm but for anyone in here to think that the super skills are run by a AI,its false.That is a human player(mostly likly a devoloper)

they had something similar in the old school super mario for snes. The first level in the jungle area had the changing box right after the halfway mark. get the star and run through the tree trunk platform area as fast as possible. after about 7 kills you would start getting 1 ups. if you did it enough *grinding for 20 minutes plus* the game would glitch and start reading chinese numerals instead of 99

The first few (seven?) hops are worth increasing numbers of points. Every additional enemy stomped without hitting the ground is worth a 1up. So by going through the entire level without touching the ground...
