  • confused doesnt even begin to explain how i feel

  • Where is the videos of the suburbs shot in? I know it's in LaSalle, but it doesn't look familiar.

  • beautiful, beautiful voice, beautiful song, beautiful music, she is amazing and you can see that she enjoys to do what she is doing, and the video its just them different and funny i absolutely love them even more cause they sound just the same as in the record is, for me that is essential in a band i mean thats what i look in every band or singer i like :)...

  • Oh my god, this looks like it's filmed in Lasalle Montreal :O is it?

  • A++++++++ song. I race at the bottom, SCCA club racing. Can I use your song on videos

Great song, lets put it to racing

  • Can't stop watching it!

  • Great video, awsome song and Regine Chassange's voice is absolutely haunting ( in a good way) Arcade fire is quickly becoming one of my favorite bands!! LOVE 'EM!!

  • 0:00

  • Great song! kinda has an 80s feel to it also

  • This isn't drugs, it's called creativity. Something that is quite lacking in pop culture. Arcade Fire doesn't need drugs to create music and videos as brilliant as this.

  • @MissCanadasFinest how do you know it's not drugs ?

  • @AZoje well, in all fairness I don't know if it isn't drugs, for sure. I was just trying to make a point that people shouldn't assume it's drugs just because it's creative or "weird".

  • Magnífico, magnífico, magnífico, magnífico, mil veces magnífico.

  • go bobbleheads!

  • This song is really great... it's awesome that this song can make you feel happy and nostalgic at the same time... i also like the fact that this music and videos, in a certain way, mocks pop culture... the video is also a great work of art, showing all these zombie-like people just getting themselves carried away by the music, dancing and having the time... i've heard new bands that could give you the same feelings, perhaps it's a new genre that will change music forever... i hope it is!!! XD

  • 151,781th viewer :D

  • im gonna get some weird looks for using these dance moves when i get drunk ha

  • ♪♫ Living in the sprawl ♫♪

♫ Dead shopping malls rise like mountains beyond mountains...♪♫

  • truly artistic :]

  • real music

  • Regine... This is the first time alot of us are hearing your voice..

    How is this possible...?

Beatific, Angelic.. Inspiring.. .. Those are just some of the words I can put

to key while listening to you....

GREAT ALBUM...ALL OF YOU WITH ARCADIA FIRE..

    WAY TO GO!!!

  • @JaybayJay Arcadia Fire? lol As long as you know the music is good, that's all I care about lol

  • Click the link in the video description, it's supposed to be interactive.

  • This Song is most popular with

    Female 13-17

    Male 45-54

    Male 35-44

Wow, way to many paedophilia jokes

  • que chida rola!!!! la adoro

  • This is the first song since the debut album that actually recaptures the magic of that original album. Arcade Fire, what you did on this song and the first album, do more of that.

  • @Stiletos I think Arcade Fire has done brilliant music in all of their albums. I know a lot of people have a preference for Funerals because it is more upbeat/radio/pop friendly, but their darker stuff on Neon Bible and in Suburbs is really artistically brilliant. I want them to keep exploring new directions with their music, not just going back to their old sound.

  • @dysis You found Funeral upbeat? Funeral was a very dark CD, the whole thing was about death.

  • @Stiletos The subject matter was dark, the music was more upbeat

  • love the beat of the music

  • Just love this video, it´s amazing!

    Keep the quality!

  • 0:38 I would set up a chair and watch her all day.

  • I love her glowing spirit.

  • I LOVE IT! It's my favourite song ;)

  • I really really like this video. :D <3

  • I am amused by how controversial people are in their anonymity on Youtube.

This song puts me in mind of lots of things, and referring to suburbia as the Sprawl is absolutely brilliant. It is kind of scary, the idea of loss of identity. Seeing faceless people is shocking is it not? In the spread of humanity, and our search for meaning, we invariably fall into complacency.

Someone please cut the lights could be interpreted in a lot of ways. Literally, I think light pollution.

  • I don't care what anyone says, this is a truly incredible video. The Suburbs is an amazing album.... just enjoy the music. Please?

  • Im surprised it doesnt have more views.

  • The funny thing is, this isn't the weirdest video I've ever seen.

  • The editing around 3:35 is beyond obnoxious. Yikes.

  • @kmvoss Agreed. What a mess of a video. Sometimes less is more. This definitely could've used more of that philosophy.

  • Régine is so pretty, and fun to watch. :3

  • What the fuck did I just watch?

  • Masking tape AKGs. I dig.

  • Yes she is wearing a dress made from corrugated cardboard, which she tears off to reveal the red "fire" dress that seems to have flashing neon on it. Later on the red dress is covered up by the white "air" dress. And ancient aliens from Mexico wrote the lyrics, so when she sings "we don't need your kind !" She is referring to humankind especially the suburban ones

  • it feel like im on acid xD I like the bobble heads xD

  • Is she wearing a cardboard dress?

  • @gollyanddolly i think so, but she looks great :)

  • i was hoping there would be a top comment explaining what all of this meant

  • i swear if i was high, this video would scare the shit out of me.. O______O

  • the song is a bit odd but i love the video

  • why aren't these guys famous?

  • @paicko7 oh they sure are actually. playing great music for massive crowds

  • @paicko7 they won a grammy

  • Régine should sing in French once in their future work (:

  • @SweetFearJP she did in haiti and in a few other songs to a lesser degree

  • Why is it that every time someone makes something "weird" they must be on acid? And I'm willing to bet that most people who say that, have never tried acid.

  • @LadyMichishio its a fucking saying.

  • @frizzybob Ohhh, it's a "saying". Must be a saying that the zombies in the Suburbs use. ^^

  • @LadyMichishio wow, i bet ur trippin as we speak.

  • This is so amazing...great vid for a great song!

  • lasalle

  • @milanudinese woot! I knew it was filmed in lasalle, I recognized that crap mall on champlain :P

  • So, if everyone could just dismiss Justin Bieber, and instead replace him with Arcade Fire when they think about Canada, that would be greatly appreciated.

  • Today, the problem with people and music is that no one cares to actually look for creative new artists...everyone goes with the flow and new music is never found. Quit being lazing and try to find to something new for a change! Be different! Put some effort into your search! Great music is out there waiting for your ears!.....btw this is great music I'm talking about haha

  • This is how I dance, but in my head I'm dancing like Travolta in Pulp Fiction.

  • this video is so disturbing if you watch it without sound

  • This song give me a feeling of nostalgie

  • interesting choreography

  • This video is most popular with:

    Female

    13-17

    Male

    45-54 lmao:)

  • @hypnotoad1986 ...nice attempt

  • Cool

  • this video is simply awesome

  • I love how she doesn't use sex to sell her music also.

But prolly for the opposite reason.

  • aw the songs good, but the video will keep me awake for atleast a month

  • I love Arcade Fire. The emotion in their music moves me to tears, when I feel trapped to no end I feel understanding from them, and if I could incorporate the emotion of their music in my attitude for just a few minutes every day then maybe I wouldn't feel like the worlds falling on top of me the rest of the time like I do. They are all my saviors. Years from now, if my life takes a turn for the better I'll look back and know it was this music that allowed me to keep my sanity and go on

  • Everyone go to sprawl2.com It is interactive and the coolest thing I have ever encountered on my computer. GO TO SPRAWL2.COM!

  • I enjoyed this music video more than The Suburbs one. Is that just me?

  • Thank you Regine, for revamping my Arcade Fire addiction.

  • Regresa mi adiccion Arcade Fire Mode On :)

  • Saw it first on MuchMusic channel, was surprised that they put something worthy that doesn't make go yaaaawn, usually their music video selection is boring and terribly repetitive. I wish MuchMusic featured more electronic music instead of constant barrage of hip-hop.

  • @MultiNational3Fish I KNOW! My friends love Drake, Rihanna, and all that type of music! DAVID GUETTA SONGS SOUND ALL THE SAME TO ME! a year ago I was like them but I hate it, it all sounds the same so my like of music changed dramatically over the year realizing how awesome these bands are. Though, I still listen to mainstream like Coldplay, Foster the People and a couple artists but seriously the collabs with David Guetta and Flo-Rida is boring

  • ah,a modern band that doesnt sing about ass, drugs, partying or sex.

  • what did I just watch.

  • did anyone notice the moon-walking bear?

  • This is pretty much what I look like when listening to my iPod. Yep. Totally.

  • Beautiful <3

  • <3 This!!!

  • It gets better every time

  • Freakin' sweet!!

  • is this video suppose to make sense? lol

  • She is just an amazing singer and so beautiful.

  • She is really, really cute in a live video of this from Great Woods in Mansfield Mass. She looks like my Aunt in this video......

  • Every song on that album merits a video. It be nice to have one with a story line though.

  • uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • her voice makes me smile :)

  • Ah, the masks of the suburbs. Comforting only to those who wear them.

  • My friend told me an interesting observation. Each one of the dresses she wears represents an element- the brown one earth, the red one fire, the blue one water and the white air. I didnt even notice until he pointed that out, and my mind was blown. Whole new meaning to the video.

  • LASALLE, MONTREAL!

  • so inspired by everything in this.

  • In a way, I interpreted the masks as symbolizing the private and oftentimes double lives of people living in the suburbs.

  • This is really weird...Songs awesome, but this video is REALLY weird!!

  • I like the song but I don't understand all the references to Zombie movies: in the scene setting - suburbia ready for catastrophe, to her spastic dance movements, then faceless dancers in synchronicity and the floodlit football field. All we needed was a rampage through a shopping mall.

  • @ikswokalok The references refer to what the song is about, and actually I think a rampage through a shopping mall would have fit in perfectly.

  • Odd, but I like.

  • I used to do spastic hipster dances like you... Until I took a Bieber in my swagger.

  • @TerryMalick PANTS ON THE GROUND! LOOKIN LIKE A FOOL WIT YO PANTS ON THE GROUND!

  • Oh my god, it's like they know how I dance in private.

  • I don't really watch Rihanna or Kesha or Lady Gaga, so I guess I don't get why this video is so weird to people. I mean, they're trying to say that everything has been covered over by dull buildings and pavement and industry, etc., but people are brilliant and electric on the inside and showing the true human breaking through all of the monotonous tones and movements, right? Am I crazy? I don't want to simplify it or say I'm right and others are wrong, I just wonder why it seems so far out.

  • @pmarley8 That's what I've always gotten out of it. :)

  • @AntiRevolutionist Why are you even watching this video if you're going to hate? This isn't what Arcade Fire is all about. I'm just saying my opinion. I do not like Lady Gaga nor 50 cent. Arcade Fire is in my blood. I shouldn't live on this planet anymore because I have an opinion? Get over yourself, this isn't a Slayer video.

  • Sexier than Rihanna.

  • @soafyeatsrainbows Sexier than Rihanna and a better singer.

  • like the song, not the vid

  • Regine is too cute for words.

  • wtf

  • I think the person how made this video took way to much acid while he was filming this

  • i'm sweating from dancing the interactive version

  • i love how this is older looking but she has an ipod

  • It is so sad that this song will never get the airplay that it obviously deserves on mainstream radio. At just over five and a half minutes long, it is only slightly ironic that it mimics the seemingly endless sprawl that the song itself rallies against. Just an observation. I wouldn't change a thing about the song or video.

  • o excelente video y esta chida la version interactiva me dolieron los brazos :P

  • i'm so glad that i can still hear good music these days :)

  • 46 epileptic attacks

  • This is the WEIRDEST video ever!

  • @meganmichele123 I disagree, I think it's just artistic, which can be misinterpreted as weird sometimes. I'm not gonna outright say what I think it means, because it should mean different things to different people, but I guess this is all just opinion. Keep on listening man.

  • I think I just got a seizure from this video :/

There should be some sort of warning at the beginning...

  • what the hell does this video mean? this is some weird stuff

  • I..had no idea that a video of this came out. Five minutes ago I was randomly following AFvevo links..and this ended up being my first music video of 2012. Regine is telling me It's going to be a good year.

  • Welcome back 80's...

  • The contemporary urban agenda has fueled renewed interest on the part of developers in contextualizing their projects within existing social and cultural setting in order to gain approval. Fail to effectively harness the indigenous value embedded in neighborhood identity. Many promote shallow themes of exacerbate fractures in the social and cultural fabric. This practice relies on a simplistic, MARKET-ORIENTED approach that distills cultural into a CONSUMER GOOD.

  • el video interactivo esta genial!!!

  • HURRAY FOR MONTREAL

  • reminds me of 80's music :)

  • Your oasum

  • Weird as hell video, but good music.

  • i love how she doesn`t use sex to sell her music. she relies on nothing but her raw talent

  • @aidenbf I don't know..her legs are a nice bonus, heheh.

  • @aidenbf arcade fire is not just a she :P haha

  • @aidenbf hah, they are like an 8 piece band, if they did use sex then thats one big orgy.

  • @aidenbf Good Sir, I am awfully sorry for contradicting you, but I wonder if you might not be confusing what the singer 'can't do' with what the singer 'doesn't want to do' in your statement. Enjoy the rest of your day, and best wishes for the year to come

  • @aidenbf what about 2:12? :U (well maybe not)

  • This song is addictive! Played it non-stop throughout summer.

  • The only thing that could make this video better would be a heavier dose of WIN!!!

  • New Arcade Fire video??? HOLY SHIT!!!!

  • Ugly painted faces... :O Juggalos?!

  • i like theys UNSEEN faced people.

  • Cocaine's a hell of a drug.

  • I know I'll have nightmares for watching this video a hundred times in a row but the song is just that good!! Regine is a doll and always entertaining. I'll take a few sleepless nights in the name of art.

  • so confused. Good song!

  • this song makes me smile

  • it looks like those zombie people are tring to get out some HUGE wedge's!

  • so far she's dressed as a lamp a glow stick a pompom and a huge pinkish red feather...and they say lady gaga's bad?

  • I like the song but the video makes me feel like I'm about to have a seizure...

  • que video mas feo y bizarro!!! bullshit!
