What´s the problem whit old Aeroplanes - So long as the company that own´s it take care of it, then there´s no problem. It´s pure Ignorance to believe that newer aeroplanes are safer then older.. If you don´t take care of a aeroplane then it will crash - it a no brainer
@B0eing1992 Northwest/Delta take better care of their DC-9's. They're a bigger airline with more money & the DC-9's are really the backbone of NWA/Delta so they're well taken care of. Valujet is/was a low budget airliner that was just trying to make more money for lower prices so they didn't really care for the aircrafts properly. Any aircraft that is well taken care will fly fine.
i know what you mean i was on a northwest DC-9 to miami to go on my 7 day cruise on Royal Caribbean's Independence of the Seas it was in December 21-27,2008. I play golf on Cozumel on the 25 man it was hard i had the by 48 golf balls and only came back to the ship witn ONE golf ball that course kicked my but no joke.
yea, But they have a lovely sound, despite being loud, I just love listing to old 737-200's as they fly by, the sound is unlike any other engine the wooshing noise, lol.
I mean, Delta has stopped buying the aircraft, but I think they may purchase the new Boeing 787, which is to replace 767s and 757s, and the Boeing 797 is to replace the 737.
The first 787, will be ANA, in late 2009. I hear if NWA and Delta merge, the new 787 will be in the new Delta Livery, my dad works for Delta, lol, and thats what they decided it would be painted in if they merge.

When are they going to come out with a JT8D-7 package like this bird has. Definately a cooler sound even then the dash 9's.

They are loud as hell, lol, inside and out, its those old Pratt & Whitney JT8D turbofan.

wait 10 more years and you'll find out. I think there's a list on wikipedia of the orders airlines made in the 787... I think
