i forget time but there was no muzzle flip. you cant be DQd unless you break the 180 or cover yourself. i did neather get the fuck over the bad angle and the mag pick up or ill disable the comments
yeah i need to classify, ihave been shooting for years but now i am good enough to actually compete and shouldnt this guy have something covering his gun? or is this just a demo of the qualifier? ....and is the classification set up the same in ever state? like when i classify will i be shooting this same thing?
Lee - solid stuff. I've got no problem with the reloads - in fact I think they're quite good. Maybe because that's how I've been trained also. It may make some folks nervous (possibly because it looks closer than it is on film), but bringing the weapon hand to meet the reaction hand is faster and more reliable. Muscles have a much easier time being precise when closer to the body (as opposed to outstretched). Again, good stuff.
I am looking into IDPA, but I thought you had to wear a cover garment, at least I believe I read that in the rule book? I am going to have to drive 1 1/2 hours each way to shoot but am still looking forward to it. I need to do some practice first, especially offhand!! Nice vid.
@NCHornet it is soooo much fun..check out the IDPA vids i got on my page its funny if u watch the ones from a year or 2 ago and then watch the recent ones likie the one from yesterday how much better we all got...of course i was using a keltecp11 back then now i got a S&W6906 and i love it shot the best i have ever shot yesterday
i wanna say that was my sti spartan pre custom job.
idpa is a great sport.and no matter what you hear remember its just a game. no competition will teach you tactics. the only benefit to competition is teaching you how to control your weapon under stress.
crappy little sony handy cam. no try pod and a camera girl that had to much caffiene. i got a better one now. but i dont shoot idpa anymore cause i moved and there is no club
I joined IDPA 2 weeks ago after going to a local club's opening day shoot. I studied the rules. Made it to a match out of town and I was hooked. I use a G17. Drove 500 miles round trip to a classifier. In the hotel the night before I put this video on my laptop, geared up and went thru the stages as best as possible in a hotel room. The day was VERY rainy, and VERY cold. Non the less, with this videos help my first try was sharpshooter, next try was expert. Thank you.
i forget exactly i think it was a high expert. not one of my best showings. i could dig out the old sheet if your interested. i wasnt really trying for a classification. i already have an offical master in CDP ESP and SSP
fairly sure i know more about this game than you do. and fairly sure my range officer plaque and oregon state idpa champion ship medal make me better than you. its not my fault the camera angle is funny.
Good shooting, however I have to side with Josh on this one despite your credentials. I was getting a little nervous a few times. No need to cant the gun that much.

With that muzzle flip, you would have been DQ'd in the matches I shoot, or at least severely warned. What was your total time?

@arkangel8419 the IDPA classifier is with out cover garment. this is the exact string of fire you will do when you classify

What did you end up classifying? I'd guess Expert just from watching it.
ps- Your start position on the one handed strings is illegal.

will my sig x5 can play for idpa match??
randolfsantillan 3 years ago
I think all the x5 models are too heavy to be legal in any IDPA division

Muzzle! Criminy man, keep it down range? Looked like it was at your head a few times. Reload pointing downrange. Clear pointed downrange.
