  • It is indeed Sunnah to kiss the hands and feet of your spiritual guide. If you read Sahih Bukhari, Adab ul Mufrad you will have a clear idea of the beloved Sahaba ikram (r.a.) used to kiss the hands and feet of the beloved prophet (salalahu alaihi wasalam). Many people who ask for evidence are mostly among those belonging to the deviant sects or are ignorant people who can easily be misguided. May Allah tala give all Sunni scholars a long life. Ameen.

    Waleed Qadri Jilani.

  • @Ahlesunnat34 ..The ruling of kissing upon meeting and hugging and grasping and kissing the hand of the 'Alim (scholar)

On the authority of Anas bin Maalik he said a man said:

"o messenger of Allah one of us meets his friend should he bow his head to him, the messenger of Allah sallahu alayhi wa salam said no. He said should he grasp him and kiss him, he said no. He said should he shake hands with him, he said yes if he wills."

    misguided????

  • Why dont you refer to the previous references given Sahih Bukhari, Adab ul Mufrad, Jabir RadiAllahu Anhu said: "`Umar ibn al-Khattab got up and kissed the hand of Allah's Messenger." Many other scholars, to name a few, Tamim ibn Salama, Sufyan al-Thawri, and the school of Imam Shafi`i including Bayhaqi and Nawawi say its sunnah as it shows the necessary magnification and respect that we owe to the Aalims and it's the practice of the Companions of the Prophet Salallahu Alayhi Wasalam.

  • @ax1237 Instead of mis quoting hadiths you need to read and understand when and what situation was that hadith related. You are clearly contradicting the other ahadiths provided.

  • @Ahlesunnat34 @Ahlesunnat34 if im contracdicting the other hadith therefore it is also contradicting the one i posted!! lol.. and the hadith u posted says the companions kissed the prophets hand..

there is a WHOLE BIG difference between a messenger or allah and a normal muslim guy!

  • why do you kiss the pir's hand? whats the daleel for this?

  • Kissing the hand of a scholar is Sunnah. One example amongst many hadith is: Jabir RadiAllahu Anhu said: "`Umar ibn al-Khattab got up and kissed the hand of Allah's Messenger." Many other scholars, to name a few, Tamim ibn Salama, Sufyan al-Thawri, and the school of Imam Shafi`i including Bayhaqi and Nawawi say its sunnah as it shows the necessary magnification and respect that we owe to the Aalims and it's the practice of the Companions of the Prophet Salallahu Alayhi Wasalam and true Salaf.

  • We would more than happily kiss Our Pir Sahibs feet aswell, as Umar ibn-al Khattb and the Sahaba RadiAllahu Anhum would run to kiss The Messenger Salallahu Alahi Wasalams feet, out of their endless deep love and respect.
