  • Lol @ Zipper's comment....but yeah....I've been looking for this song for years!!! I haven't heard it since I was little and I was too little to remember the exact lyrics let alone who sang it! Thanks wikipedia "top country songs of 1981" and YouTube!! =)

  • How to play songs on a guitar brought me here

  • Loooool@zipper

  • This is by far my favorite song and I've actually sang the bass part at my chorus concert it was amazing

  • That first guy looks high and I just wanna slap the bass guy!!! What the hell is he doing wearing a business suit in a flipping hillbilly band?! I think they all must be high.

  • talk about daddy sang bass lol wow

  • Where have all the bass singers gone?

  • Lmao family guy

  • I'm 15 and watching the oak ridge boys on the Lawrence Welk Show!!!! Like this if you grew up with them!!!

  • @CastleBeckettFan2 I'm 16, so I didn't grow up with them except the fact that they were always playing in Cracker Barrel, and I've been going there as long as I can remember, so that might count.

  • I grew up listening to acts such as The Oak Ridge Boys. Nostalgic!!

  • Looks like two of the Doobie Brothers, half of Hall N Oates, and my banker got a group together

  • Always get such a kick out of Richard Sterban's voice! :)))

  • So very good

  • I'm hear because of family guy

  • RIP Aunt Elsie

This song will always be "our song".

I'll keep singing it & thinking of you.

    Love you

  • The white Lionel Ritchie and Mountain Jesus.

  • easily the worst song Ive ever heard

  • So that deep voice deff doesn't match the body style! Lol

  • @diamondback1596 hahaha, That's exactly what I thought the first time I heard this song... hahaha

  • I love Joe's dark eyes.

  • I guarantee the 8 people who dislike this are black

  • @tooturbugg20---Only an idiot would make a crass judgement like that!!! I owned this on a 7" 45 as well as many other "blacks" that you so demeaned with that statement. Grow up!!!

  • @subymanvince wait you didnt let me finnish my comment!

  • @tooturbugg20 Cool.. My fault for the snippiness, but I can tell ya that not all Blacks hate country, I do know that more Cauasians dislike the genre and that it's a bit short sighted.. I'm good though :)

  • @subymanvince i know... but i did not get to finnish the comment my computer shut it self down and posted the comment... what i ment to say was...... i guarantee the 8 people who dislike this are black Sabbath lovers

  • @tooturbugg20 I think Black Sabbath is one of the greatest bands to walk Earth yet I still listen to Oak Ridge Boys with pleasure and pride. Why hate on people just because they don't like something you do? It's not your place to criticize and hate. Go somewhere please.

  • @ballsofcotton11 Well said....5 minutes ago I was listening to death metal, and classic rock. I am also a HUGE Black Sabbath fan, as well as John Denver !

I love country music just as much as I do any other type of music, come over to my house and you may hear The Dead Milkmen, come back 5 minutes later you may hear Johnny Cash, and I will still be drinking the same american beer and having just as much fun. Music makes the world go round, I don't care what people listen to.

  • This song was 30 years ago no.7 in the world charts #oak #ridge #boys

  • Girl on the Percussion? Thats what I'm Talking bout!

  • Jesus is an Oak ridge boy

  • Definetly thought it would be the bearded guy with the deep voice not the skinny white guy on the end..

  • thumbs up if Family Guy brought u here

  • This song was 30 years ago no.10 in the world charts #oak #ridge #boys

  • i thought the bearded guy sang the low part haha

  • The end was the best

  • Lol that guys face in the back is funny as hell!

  • GAY DEEP VOICED MAN!

  • Comment removed

  • God I hate country music. The lead singer looks like a cross between John Oates and gabe Kaplan

  • Comment removed

  • @j2times2006 then why did you watch it dumb ass???

  • @j2times2006 Why watch it? Go watch some other crap then. This IS music

  • @mollymitch1 only if your inbred

  • I noticed “ELvIRA” was the first track on the OAK ridge BOYS 1981 “Fancy Free” album. Unrelated: NBC “TODAY” 21st century anchors Matthew Todd Lauer (b. 1957) & MeREDitH vieIRA (b. 1953) AND “IF” author RUDYard kipLING (b. 1865) sharing a DEC. 30 birthday. I’m more partial to kipLING’s “And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!”, than his allusion to “State-kept school men” in “Macdonough's Song”. DurHAM, NC-born DON SchLITz gets writing credit on the album for “Another Dream Just Came True”

  • thumbs up if u wanted to watch this just because of the deep voice

  • HAHAHA did anyone else otice the guitar players face from 0:15 to 0:31 PRICELESS

  • @killanata How do you put the times in like you have so you can click on them please?

  • man I bet the boys look back on this video and wonder if they really did dress like that haha

  • this song was on family guy Mega Lesbians episode

  • I love Richard Sterban's Bass. My voice is pretty deep for 16, but it's nothing compared to Richard

  • @weirdo22221 mine 2

  • The guitar player in the background at 0:15 is certainly enjoying this song.

  • Richard sterban is hung like a bull elk. I loooove this song and that bass!

  • That yeti second from the right...

  • wow, I got here by looking up the bass line for AC/DC's Love hungry man, lol

  • Reminds me of my Mom and Dad listening to this song when I was just a little one!

Love you both Mom and Dad!

  • Came here cus of family guy hahaha

  • i wish i could go back to the 80's and early 90's again

  • These are my favorite singers...Always

  • they have ben my faverite for years and years to come.

  • Tony Thaxton brought me here by mentioning the previous person to say that

  • First time I heard this song was on the Dukes of Hazzard in the "Celebrity speedtrap" segment haha!

  • Tony Thaxton brought me here.

  • @Greenie369 Who the heck is Tony Thaxton. Never heard of him.

  • @gohawkz Tony Thaxton is the drummer of the Motion City Soundtrack. (Awesome band, by the way.)

  • Family guy just brought me here too!! Ice heard the song before and loved it. But it's been awile since I heard it

  • Family Guy brought me here!! True enough the song has nothing to do with Family Guy, but with people being curious to see if it was a real song or just watching family guy brought back memories after here the song!! Again Family Guy brought me here!

  • This song has absolutly NOTHING to do with family guy. So stop bringing up family guy. Its a good song that came out years before family guy, and it'll be popular after family guy is canceled! It's just a really good song!

  • Classic Badass

  • How can you not watch this and feel good :)

  • Grizzley Adams can sing!

  • Lol family guy :p

  • Elf Euro

  • I love the lineup of this Oak Ridge Boys. Is this the same lineup that's performing today?

  • @peachkim dee allen is filling in for richard sterban now. i think so? idk :)

  • @swanybitch no dee allen filled in on baritone for a while but not any more

  • @peachkim Yes this is the same lineup that is performing today,

  • Wow... I don't think they're lip syncing this.

  • I love this song! I can't even remember the first time I heard it, but it always gets me going.

  • um pa pa mow mow.

    can't beat that - - with a stick.

  • my name is elvira. for real! ha. please somebody else write another "elvira" song!!

  • Bring back Elvira. Thanks to family guy :)

  • I just love anything bass, no matter how you use the word, bass singer, bass player, bass fishing,no surprise to my friends that I am married to a bass player who likes to go bass fishing, relevant to this video: Richard is indeed hot & my favorite bass singer! to me, he makes this song, can't imagine it without him

  • Love Those Oak Ridge Boys.. Coming to my area very soon......

please check out my video on this song... just type

    big river karaoke Elvira

  • i do this on karaoke @ the pub i do the bass bit please mark this down so i can go lower like the original

  • I love this song! As a wannabe bass singer, It's a great vocal exercise. However, I'm under no illusions that I'm within a million miles of Richard Sterban's masterful performance. He's in a class all by himself. You're either born with that kind of voice or you're not. It's great that he's used his talent in a positive way, singing gospel and values-affirming country music. The Oak Ridge Boys have enjoyed a long career entertaining millions of people worldwide. I'll always be a fan!

  • I totally dig the whole "Breakfast Club" fist pump at 3:16 lol

  • 2:08-2:13

...the sound of your soul being sucked out of your body.

    *yeeeaaaaauuuuuhhhhhhhhh* 0_o

  • I was in love with the bass man!!!imagine that!!!!

  • Sadly, this is one of their worst performances of this song. Just my opinion, I've seen them all. Richard is way off.

  • What purpose does the bearded man serve?

  • @thefilesofmrx Mr. Golden is the Barritone of the group. He hasn't always been bearded either. He and Duane are two of the originals. Back then Mr. Golden was a clean shaven pretty boy. His voice is very unique, and if you listen closely, you can hear him quite well.

  • Hey wasn't Bowzer of Sha Na Na in the Oak Ridge Boys - lol? Didn't he do the ultra deep bass part in their hits?

  • @bucky468 NEGATIVE! LOL.

  • @daveandy1 Richard's voice sounds a lot like Bowzer if you ask me.

  • @Chris97971 Oates

  • This video has provided me with many laughs. All of them while high. Thank you Oak Ridge Boys, so much.

  • @panicxitsxbrea lol I have to try it!

  • is it just me, or does the oompapamowmow guy look like marcy's first husband on married with children

  • @ADAMTHENDERSON i personally think he looks like bob saget.

  • @ADAMTHENDERSON steve?

  • richard stuben sounds like my 2009 honda crf 450 fourstroke dirtbike, what a awsome voice.

  • Richard Stuben can still hit these low notes now! No Oakridge Boys concert if complete without this favorite song...And he still gets the biggest cheer from the audience.

  • @2000Ajjet i bet he is my favorite

  • Old school.

  • also, the bass singer is amazing, but he looks like he's gonna do my taxes when he gets off stage

  • @Rotary5ive Are you sure he doesn't look like he is going to go act on Full House?

  • Any other men feel like pre pubescent boys after listening Richard Sterban sing? Just wondering........

  • bass has got a spare testicle or something, look at his stance when he drops octave

  • love the bass singer ..superb

  • lol my gramma line dances and electric slides to elvira she is dancing this second shes 64 i think roflshes a gr8 dancer 2

  • That bass must be hung like a horse

  • love this song~~~

    thanks for sharing~~~

  • It's the weight of his cock that pulls down on his vocal cords!

  • the bass singer is something sexy!! haha

  • i renmemeber for my birthfday one tiem inmichigan my mom and friends wasgoingto surprise withan oak ridege boys concert pone of the friends said we was goingto a striplshowlol the waitress ruin edthe surpriosed andthe friend sais seeit isa strip showlol

  • I'm just sitting here laughing at the lead singer with that priceless mustache/Jerry curl combo.

Not to mention Chubaca over there in the cowboy hat..

  • @Hankamer126 The moustache guy is Joseph Bonsall. I've always wondered about his ethnicity. Italian, perhaps? Chewbacca is Bill Golden. He left the group after too many comments about his Grizzly Adams appearance when he stopped going to the barbershop altogether. I still love this group, though, especially Richard Sterban's speaker-rattling bass notes.

  • This song ROCKS!!! :)

  • talk about testosterone poisoning

  • This is a timeless classic country crossover melody of all time. It reminds me of my early childhood being 4 years old when I used to listen to Kenny Rogers, Oak Ridge Boys, Waylon Jennings, Ronnie Milsap, and Willie Nelson when they were the country crossover melting pot at the time.

  • this is the gayest song in the world...but i can't stop listening to it.

  • When did the guy from Hall and Oates sing in the Oak Ridge Boys?

  • That dude singing the bass part...must be hung like a bull elk.

  • @ponyboy314 I think I pissed I laughed so hard reading that....awesome

  • Steven Roads!!!!!

  • My buddy Skip on lead guitar...

  • I like Richard Sturban.

  • Even if you hate country music, you can't help but like this song.

  • that mountaineer lookin guy really scares me..

  • I like how he called out the 2nd verse LoL

  • Heigh-yo silver, away. My favorite lyrics in this classic, country song!

  • Richard Sterban is hot!

  • @sabrinafan1011 What The Hell?????

  • I love this song. I have it on my cell phone.

  • mmm that deep voice is sexy.

    Rawr!

  • Gay means happy you idiot

  • i didn't know lionel richie and john oates had a kid and he was the lead singer of the oak ridge boys

  • lmao

    u nut!

  • @gofyerself LMAO!!!!

  • How old are they all now ?

  • The baritone who did the ooom papa ooom papa is no longer with the band, and someone else took his spot...

they are i believe in their mid to late 60's right about now

  • bullshit. they were all recently together on the huckabee show and he is still in the band.

  • HOLEY SHIT THAT IS ONE SERIOUSLY DEEP VOICE but they are a good band

  • the 'getty up' part is the erection's national anthem

  • @orkloo123 yea and ooom papa mow mow part is the sex scene in my opinion

  • look at his eyebrows 25 seconds through. i love this guy

  • damn these guys are so good!

  • I named my cat Elvira for this song. I sing to her oompopaoompop a meow meow :0

  • Hahaha nice

  • @JTMARKSBERRY roflmao....hafta try that with my Siamese

  • @JTMARKSBERRY hahahah I love it

  • @JTMARKSBERRY thats amazing. i had a dog named chantilly lace hah

  • @JTMARKSBERRY HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I love it. Too funny

  • i rew up listening these guys

  • To all the idiots calling this song "gay"....LOL there is nothing gay about it. This was period dress in the early 80's and they were definitely into the women. Maybe if you see this as gay it fulfills your idea of what you find sexy in a male on male fantasy and fills the bill of what YOUR desires are. Now your little butt plugging secrets are out.

  • If people are calling this gay... then they are watchin the video... so they are saying they like watching things they consider gay....

  • @triviumd13 they are using the derogetory word of the word gay. Gay means homosexual. not stupid. They are watching things they consider stupid.

  • @ChrisisBass13 touche chrisis..... nicely put....

  • But it was originally sung by the Mega Lesbians!

  • OAK RIDGE BOYS IS AWESOME

  • The Oak Ridge Boys are one the Best :-) they still are on tour and still put on a great show.

  • You can tell that the dude dressed like an indian has larynx-envy of the dude with the deep voice. It's his big hang-up.

  • this is way too fast te original song they did ws slower

  • @ lovemysis321 they rushed it a little.

  • my god. im a man who listens to hard rock and southern rock but for some reason i find this song catchy! :) lol.

  • that guy from married with children?

    1:56

  • great song but the guy in the cowboy hat and the drummer are dressed pretty gay even for early 80's

  • The guy in the hat is a historical reenactor and I doubt your man enough to tell him that to his face. You sound like Joe McCarthy who was seeing commies everywhere only gays

  • This isn't fucking gay. It's just how it was the year I was born. Looks to me like they'd done a little snurfin'.

  • i get the feeling that deep guy has an extra male chromosome.
