Very nice post, i went to Trier in 2006 & it is a very beautiful place.
Very relaxing and peaceful.
There was one building i was looking for but learnt it was damaged by fire and there was a plaque that stated:
"King Trebeta son of Assyrian Queen Semiramis founded Trier, 1300yrs before the Romans came to the Rhineland." The Mayor of Trier also had a commemorative plaque giving tribute to the Assyrian founders of Trier.
This makes me homesick. I'm a native of Trier but have lived for a long time in California. I miss Trier a lot. It might not always be the nicest town in the world but there is really something special about it.
