Except the footage changes from the handheld camera to a stationary one when he changes from camera 1 to the long range camera then back again, despite the cameraman not moving in the long shot you can see his perspective has changed when the camera chanegs back. This was a clear switch as the long camera had no other purpose and was not used again after this, also the color between the 2 shots is different adding evidence that there was a switch here.

If you look closely on a big screen you will see that the six white balls throughout the first part of the broadcast are all in an even line and ironically there is a line of black bricks on the wall behind which acts like a ruler.

While I am dubious of the explanation Derren gave, the explanation that it was just a camera trick is next to impossible. The theory that the left side of the screen was seperate from the right is a believable idea - Untill you take into account that the camera was handheld, and it was live, meaning the pre-recorded left video would have to perfectly mimic the live movement of the cameraman to the finest degree. So unless they rehearsed the tiniest movements perfectly, it's not possible.

This is how he does it! It's simply a split-camera technique. So just a camera trick in the end!
If you look closely on a big screen you will see that the six white balls throughout the first part of the broadcast are all in an even line and ironically there is a line of black bricks on the wall behind which acts like a ruler.

Now after the last ball has been dropped if you look very carefully you can see that the ball on the left end has become slightly raised against the others and against the black bricks on the wall behind.
When Derren Brown turns the tray around you can clearly see that the ball on the end (now the right end) which is number 39 is slightly higher than the others as it has not been placed in the tray properly.

Therefore the balls at the end of the broadcast are NOT the same set as the ones at the start.
So split-camera effect (with artificial camera-shake) and a magician's assistant (with NO studio audience present) are the solution.
The arrival at the prediction is therefore irrelevant as the balls have simply been swapped during the live show.

If it really was possible to predict accurately every number in the lottery result for a specific week, it is obvious it would have been done a long time ago. Derren Brown used his illusionary maths purely for the purpose of creating a smoke screen to hide how he really did the trick.

While I am dubious of the explanation Derren gave, the explanation that it was just a camera trick is next to impossible. The theory that the left side of the screen was seperate from the right is a believable idea - Untill you take into account that the camera was handheld, and it was live, meaning the pre-recorded left video would have to perfectly mimic the live movement of the cameraman to the finest degree. So unless they rehearsed the tiniest movements perfectly, it's not possible.
