This song sounds like it would be fitting in a old age war movie when the "Bad guy" is arming his group of soldiers in some horrible way... or... something.
hey man i really respect what you do because i make my own music as well, but in an entirely different genre. do you ever copyright your tracks and have you had any problems in the past with people trying to claim your tracks?
@kfectz08 I haven't had any issues with people trying to claim my tracks. I actually put everything I release out as Creative Commons, so that people can remix, share, and do other stuff with my tracks without any legal issues. (This is my new Youtube account).
this was all done on cubase?? thats epic! instruments are spot on. i hope to get this soon, composing songs like this for film clips etc sounds a lot of fun!
What? that ended so quickly! I didn't get enough of it yet! I think it was pretty well done. Would love it if you could give some comments on my works as well. I'm just starting out in orchestration so anything would be helpful!
Cubase is better than FL Studio for orchestral and acoustic music, while FL studio is better for electronic music. If you're going to be using EWQL stuff, it'd probably be better to use Cubase, although a lot of people use it with FL Studio. I don't know about the word builder not working in FL Studio though.
Hold up... I have talked to pros before and have done tons of research and cubase is better at everything that fl studio except for one thing: the drum sequencer. Cubase has better mixing and plugins. Steinburg created the concept of VST's so it is the most compatible. just throwing that out there
Umh... Wtf? How would FL Studio be better for pirating VST's? You don't even use it for pirating, you use FL Studio for using VSTs. You don't seem to know exactly what you are talking about.
DAW's are just hosts of preference. Unless the Daw comes with its own set of designated plugins for eq/mixing related usage, they would both act similarly. Now if you were the type of person to use 3rd party plugins, like me, you would easily find that the verdict would still remain, as both DAWs an unstable platform, so once again, its all about preference. But as far as film scoring. Nuendo (Cubase's Bigger Brother), is CREATED for this. Industry Standard
The melodies were complete on the spot made up stuff. The sounds are sample libraries from East West Quantum Leap. The orchestra is East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra Silver ($200), and the drums and percussion are Stormdrum 2 ($350). I don't know if they work with Finale or not
For notation you can use the piano roll (I mostly use this), or built in notation. The Notation isn't as flexible as finale, but works. This type of software works best if you have a MIDI controller to record with.
Wow, great track! The orchestral sounds are very realistic, nice melodies too. Would be nice if it was a bit longer, to give you time to develop your themes.
But overall, very entertaining.
I have a new track, similar in style to this, love to know what you think :)
more like epic type of music, you know? Like in the end of a movie, after the good guys won, they come back home, but then the camera moves to a scene of the enemy where they swear revenge (which pretty much calls for a sequal), but the good guys are like, not today, and return home to a feast.

So cool. It'd be awesome to have this on Loading screens and the shop menu! Maybe not the loading though, loading is lightning fast in this game!

I use Pro Tools to compose, or Nuendo (just a higher end cubase) but cubase does the job as well.

Is Cubase or FL Studio best? I have heard the word builder in EWQL Symphonic Choirs doesn't work in FL Studio...

you could say it is more compatible for pirating VST's, but when you actually buy them cubase is the best by far

How did you write the melodies for the piece?
I use finale 07 but it's harder for me to get more realistic sounds - everything sounds to some extent like video game music :[
Love the Zimmer-ish combination with electronic sounds and orchestra ;]

Lol Yeah I hope they were made up ;p, but I meant as far as notating them, is all that included on this interface?

woah....look at your cpu bar! it barely budges! mine would overflow and shutdown the pc at the beginning of this song.
nusua 2 years ago
Mine acts weird. It overloads when the cpu bar is only about 1/4 full. I still get a lot of speed issues.
