Our pets are eating their own cousins! And what's more, the manufacturers say it's "too expensive" to even remove collars from the bodies before processing the meat...

I use to work for a pet food store, they asked me what I feed my dog, when I told them I make my own food. I was instructed to lie to customers should they ever ask me the same question. This is a store that doesn't even sell grocery store crap food but veterinary recommended foods.

After a long, careful consideration and being skeptical for a very long time...I decided to switch my dog to raw feeding 6 weeks ago, and I will never EVER go back to that garbage store-bought dry kibble food. I agree with what you're saying regarding a raw diet for pets. It's healthy to do so. It's good you put an educational video out about it, but this video is a little boring. I think the narrator is talking waaayyyy too slow and that is probably why. Maybe talk a little bit more in normal speed and add some music.

Raw food diets are expensive. I'm 23 and paying off student loans + rent + vehicle expenses. It's just not an option for me, no matter how bad I want to get my dog on the raw food diet. Too expensive.

Not true. Hard, crunchy foods are carbohydrates which turn to sugar. Sugar harms the teeth. You wouldn't eat crackers or cookies to keep your teeth clean. 4 years ago I put my 4 pugs and 3 cats on raw food. I became concerned becaused the dogs seemed to lose weight. It turned out that their weight did not change; their body shapes changed. Fat turned to muscle, coats became glossy, and stools became smaller. I'll never open a bag or a can again.

The dog when it all comes down to it's natural biological form is a wolf both inside and out, it has the digestive system of the wolf and can digest all raw animal parts, bones kin hair feathers etc. It's gastric juices kills bacteria and it's immunine system can repel any types of bacteria known to man.

Dog food consists of mostly water, grains and heavily processed waste meat. It's the equivalent of feeding your kids fries and pizza everyday. Not healthy at all.

That is your opinion, and it is largely inaccurate. Most pet foods are nutritionally balanced. If they weren't, then many companies offering sub-par food would cease to be, as competitors would offer nutritionally balanced food.

Dogs are prey-eaters from head to tail. Read the ingredients of dog food. If it says 'meat by-products' it essentially means 'garbage'. E.g. hoofs, brains, cancerous meat, and anything else that's not human-grade. Cancer isn't something you want to feed to your dog, is it?

Yes, you should feed your pup raw food. It's healthy for him/her.

Dogs won't get worms from eating raw meat. Their strong gastric acid kills all the germs. You have to be aware that gastric acid of dogs is much stronger than human's and because of that will kill lots more germs, such as salmonella.

You have to be careful what kind of bones you feed your dog. Never give bones that carried weight, such as legs. They are too hard and will break your dog's teeth. I feed my dog chickenwings.

Also, NEVER EVER give your dog raw pig meat. There's a small chance that the meat contains Aujeszky decease, which is harmless to humans but will instantly kill your dog.

My cat died because of barfing. She got salmonella and giradia from that raw shit. Never ever again. Fuck this barfing industry, they are much worser any pet food industry can ever be, because there is no recall in case something is wrong and no one takes responsibility.

I'm sorry about the loss of your pet. Generally speaking i still think that raw food is more appropriate for dogs (and i assume cats, though i don't have experience with cats) than kibble, though. A dog is a prey-eater and not a kibble eater. Besides that the largest part of kibble consists of grains, and dogs can't digest grains.

Likely your cat was so used to kibble that it responded badly to raw food. It has to do with having less strong stomach acid which is essential to kill bacteria.

Iagree that dogs are carnivores but we must not forget that in fact wild dogs and wolves will eat grasses and fruit at times. So adding some vegetables is a good thing for our pets, but... to turn them in to vegetarians is as you say unreasonable and an absolute stupidity!
