Fernando had great hair...It's interesting how Fernando interchanged between barritone and falsetto voices...The "You look Mahvelous" line was popularized by Billy Crystal...It's good that he kept his accent under raps...Fernando sounds a lot like Ricky Ricardo...Lorenzo had some big shoes to fill, and though he didn't attain his father's level of fame and stardom, he nonetheless did okay for himself.

Mr. Lamas was appearing in a Broadway show, Happy Hunting, with Ethel Merman at the time this episode was made, and the two of them did not get along at all. He objected to her habit of playing to the audience instead of to her costars, and she objected to the tight trousers that he wore on stage which tended to call attention to his male endowment. Of course, Mr. Lamas's legacy on Broadway pales in comparison to Merman's unparalleled career as the Queen of Broadway.

Fernando Lamas was obviously trying to get the attention on himself and away from Merman. He achieved this by having his trousers fitted to show off his manhood prominently. Sans underwear, Fernando walked on stage to gasps in the audience. A publicist at the time recalls that it was plainly obvious that Lamas was "hung like a horse".

He would drive in the nude because he didn't want to crease his gabardine pants. Lamas was a piece of work.  The thing is, Esther Williams came off looking worse in her book than him, for she left her kids with their dad in order to live with Lamas. Lamas would not allow her kids in the house because they reminded him of the fact she had had sex with another man. Lamas was absolutely nuts, and Esther was no better.
