@myobfool , before they were called The Foundations and lost and replaced some new members, they were called The Ramong sound or Ramongs later. They played a kind of reggae ska R&B mix around 1966. Sadly the Ramongs never did any recordings. They even had Arthur Brown (Hellfire) as a co-lead singer for a few weeks. Very interesting band and they recorded some grreat songs, some of them somewhat raw sounding but that just adds to the band's charm. Sadly they didn't record a huge amount of songs.

@mrblurblur2003 Ok now that's just mean ! This isn't even the same music gender ! Clem Curtis many years later sounds great here . Check out ->> Lord Large feat. Clem Curtis - Stuck In A Wind-Up. The flip side is a SKA type song called "MOve Over Daddy. Of course and there is the wierd ->> The Native Hipsters - Mr. Magic . I don't know where that recording came from but Clem's voice still sounded great in the 80's and sound amazing today. He's 69 years of age and still going strong. My hat's off to the man.
you are so right missohio83. I was around, born in '50 and I am grateful I was on the tale end of this kind of music, the duration of the Beatles, the anti-war movement, Elvis' unbelievable career
Amazing the music I've been able to listen... not to mention some of the crazy stuff happening now!
For some reason this song just randomly popped in my head and I haven't heard it in awhile! This kind of music is just great, I'm only 26 and really wish I could've been around when music was at it's best, which to me was in the 50s and 60s!

The Foundations were a British soul band, active from 1967 to 1970. The group, made up of West Indians, White British, and a Sri Lankan, are best known for their two biggest hits, "Baby Now That I've Found You" (a Number One hit in the UK Singles Chart and Canada, and subsequently Top 10 in the US) and written by Tony Macaulay and John MacLeod; and "Build Me Up Buttercup"
am i the only one who likes both? i mean cmon, there are some good new songs and some good old songs. u guys cant be judging new songs as crap songs and old songs as great cuz there are some shitty old songs too.
His voice cracks and is off pitch in places and is absolutely wonderful. Let that be a lesson to singers who rely on studio gimmickry. Soul is something that comes naturally as is the apparent joy of singing a really cool song.
Never knew they were an intergrated group intil I got the CD The British Are Coming. This song rocked all the radio stations. Great voice and hey! I can sing along because the words are clear. The Brits kicked ass when they came here in the 60's. Today' new singers do not know how to write good R&B and pop songs with a hook. MJ is gone and they are are lost.
You can tell he do not talk English that well but it makes him even sexier. I wish I had been around when he was. This song would have a title like this."Baby now that you found me please let me go!!". LOL
Amazing, the low opinion of most of the stuff coming out today. Not just me. From Berlin to the Beatles(both sung by young 'uns at my temple--"Hey Jude" on karioke last night), younger listeners are turning to the back catalogue.
Racially mixed acts were nothing new but still rare. Then out of the U.K.you had: George Fame and The Blue Flames, The Foundations and the Equals featuring Eddy Grant. Then Frisco produced one of the most famous mixed bands: Sly and the Family Stone.
Julia Nunes has a great version of this song on youtube. The foundations remind me of my friends. We've got two jews, two blacks, one korean or something like that, one indian, and two crackers very interracial.
This is a great song, the crap they have today is all about sex, getting high and the johans brothers and miley cyrus have put music on the track of no return. These songs told stories this was the good old days
This is music! I love these guys. They're much better than those hippity-hop gangsters with their shorts down to their fuckin' ankles that sing about -God forbid what-, nowadays. Songs now will be forgotten in less than five years, and songs like this one are still played. >:D
