Why can't they just make a hydrogen Prius instead of polluting this planet even more. Make a lot of hydrogen cars period. James May drove the Honda and it was still a good little car and had a five speed and it's not pollutive, so WHY NOT?

"when the world is ready"... very true, oil is too much tied down to the economy that if all cars started running on water, the economy would go haywire.

@camsac it does not run with water it works with hydrogen. Water ist H2O (2 hydrogen 1 oxygen) - it can be used a electrolysis to seperate the H20 into H2 and O. The H is used for the car. For the sepearting it is needed some energy. The energy can be produced with windmile or solar panels or oil... The big advantage of this nice BMW ist that it doesent need this verry toxic batterys ! The H is burned with oxygen and reduced to H2O - water.

@ac3497597 Well this was invented a long time ago by the military but back then they didn't think of global warming and oil running out. The first though they had was we start using this and people will lose jobs in the oil industry.

this actually was one of thew few commericals that caught my attention. the video itself was dull but the message conveyed really speaks a lot. thumbs up to bmw on there hydrogen program
