@badboybrattli Its not hard to understand; it just needs absolute attention to understand everything; Raziel travels in time 3 times throughout the game: from Kain's future empire back to the time of the Pillars corruption, from there he travels just over a century into the future when the pillars had collapsed roughly 70 years before. then from there he travels back roughly 600 years from that point where the scene in this clip takes place.
What I still don't quite get is how the demons can be wandering around in the future. I mean I know vampires are powerful, but Kain wouldn't have been able to establish his rule if the demons conquered the world first.
@Soulreaver191 The demons were wandering in the future long after they had been conjoured by the Guardian of the Dimension Pillar; the late Lady Azimuth. Matriach of Avenus Cathedral. after her death compliments of Kain to restore her Pillar; the demons in their feral ways took over until Kain began his rise to power (and with the Soul Reaver in hand demons wouldnt have stood much of a chance against him.)
Raziel killed Melchiah,Zephon,Rahab,Dumah,Turel and Raziel...1000 years later Kain raised them as his vampire lieutnants, than Dumah and Turel threw Raziel in the abyss and Raziel killed Melchiah,Zephon,Morlock,Rahab and Dumah as Vampires.
And before that happened Kain killed them as Humans many years before all that happened?
I would kill my own mother to see the Soul Reaver and Blood Omen games remade on current-gen platforms and for them to then start working on another sequel :)
The best part about the Soul Reaver games is that if you played them when they came out, all of this was such a revelation. The plot twists are so delicious and confusing the first time you witness it. Raziel himself, as the undead-demon vampire, is the reason he and his brothers were raised as Kain's lieutenants in the first place, and it's his own soul in the Soul Reaver. Was amazing the first time playing to see it and have it all slowly make sense.
He kills them as humans here, then as Kain is rising to power many years later, Kain raises them as his vampire lieutenants. It's these lieutenants that Raziel is killing in SR1 - he thought Kain had defiled their crypt by raising them (in SR1), but the irony is evident here, as it was, in fact, Raziel who had done them in in the first place, providing the corpses for Kain's dirty deed.
I know what you mean. The new games are all looking to provide a new game mechanic, better graphics or better looking body parts instead of creating an amazing, deep and incredible story. I can't wait until they realise that if they managed to get a load of the stuff they're already working on combined with a story even half as epic as LoK's they'd make a killing.
this story is VERY hard to understand. how did Raziel get there in the first place? like...how did the demon....fuck it, impossible!

This fucking game should become a movie directed by David Lynch or Quentin Tarantino.

wait a minute, I thought he killed them all in the first soul reaver?!
joshanator1 10 months ago
@joshanator1 He killed their corrupt vampire selves in SR1, then here, he kills their human selves (1500 years prior).

Blood Omen/LoK is an epic series. I would read it as a novel, maybe which would go into more detail of the characters and explain more things
