A good friend mine, an ex police officer got into serious trouble ten years ago. He responded to a case of stalking and harassment. After that she began showing up at his hangouts and his work and a relationship began. After a year, he proposed and she vanished without another word the next day after accepting. She called him a week later arranging to meet, and he wanted an explanation. When he arrived he found his own colleagues waiting for him who took him into custody fr stalking (con't)

This kind of behaviour may not be domestic violence but it certainly isn't normal or healthy and counts as unreasonable behaviour in divorce cases.

The Bobbitt clip is a very telling one about the attitudes society has towards men. John Wayne Bobbitt was an arsehole by all accounts but in no way does that legitamise his wife mutilating him in such a way. There is the old story that appears now & again that a wife who caught her husband cheating on her cutting up all his best suits & she is treated like a heroine. If a cuckolded man destroyed his wifes wardrobe she could have him removed from the house as a threat to her well being.

The underlying principle is merely "does the woman get what she wants"

if the answer is no, then this is unacceptable.

This is the sort of principle that can only be maintained so long as there is a clear and distinct double standard with no confusion.
