@kozmo99 i don't what kind of acid you take, maybe it's the same wet socks the dealers are pushin' to the Kings! Psychedelia is a state of mind, not a guitar effect or a riff. I love the Kings, but they misuse the word psychedelic and are just playing the 'sounds of some dudes' who actually took the acid... and those guys were 17 years old... pathetic!

@brotherpantichrist I think you're taking the word WAY too seriously. Yes, as a stand alone it means a 'state', but in music it describes a sound. The Kings are a Neo-Psych/Garage band. They're probably more Stones/Nuggets style than say The Rain Parade, who drift farther into Syd Barret land. It's a style, a look, art and sound - it's not always about dropping a tab.

clearly your definition of psychedelic is skewed, you want them to be bugging out for 15 minutes on some electric jug solo but you dont realize that psychedelic rock sounded more like this when it came to fruition, listen to the 13th floor elevators for both this type of psych rock and some sweet electric jug soloing

I remember seeing video clips of the guys back in the 80's.I have one of their albums as well as a 45. These guys rock!

Bluemonk611, you need to remember that these guys have been doing this music since the late seventies when most people were listening to Abba. The C. Kings are not necessarily reliving the sixties, they are delivering this music with their own contemporary flare.They are a working band and have to have some mainstream appeal otherwise it is tough to pay the bills, hence the rocker look.

Besides,these guys have worked on other things. Babiuk wrote a book called Beatles Gear. Prevost and Babiuk have done some projects with The RR Hall of Fame. You only dream of doing what these guys do.
