please check my profile for more links and updates...sandbag aka scumbag is on another appeal..the courts have ordered tony to be freed 3X by end of dec 2011...but here it is feb 1, 2012.....more legal bs from the money hungry greedy monster....after all the tiger truck stop is a gas station..sells diesel fuel..a very loud toxic smelly place adjacent to a noisy interstate, I10 X139...why why why ??? the place is to sell GAS after all, and boy o boy that places reeks of "GAS"!!!

ALDF Update Nov 2, 2011: Great news from Baton Rouge, LA: Judge Michael Caldwell has ruled in favor of the ALDF and LA taxpayers in lawsuit to free Tony the Tiger from the Tiger Truck Stop in Grosse Tete,LA. Caldwell agreed with ALDF's argument that the permit that allows Sandlin to keep Tony was unlawfully issued by the LDWF.

The judge ordered the LDWF to revoke current permit and prohibited issuance of any new permits to the Truck Stop."We are thrilled that the court made the right decision," says ALDF Exec Dir Stephen Wells. "We will continue to do everything we can to make sure Tony's next home is a reputable, accredited sanctuary that can give Tony the life he deserves."

Hi Mary,

ALDF lawyers were in court today to defend against Sandlin's attempt to get our case dismissed. In another victory for Tony, the judge denied Sandlin's motion. This means the case will continue to move forward. The Court has set a hearing date of September 15 for ALDF's motion for a mandatory injunction, which seeks an immediate revocation of Sandlin's permit to keep Tony.

Omy goodness Mary, I just looked at some pictures from the links. The one of the baby and Mike face to face and hands and paws ...priceless. And the one where he's licking the glass...what a beautiful Cat and place. Makes you want to just kick down the walls where Tony lives and get him out of there. You know, must of the Cats here lived to be old Cats even for captivity. So, will be waiting for news...August 15th

@kvalle1 Mike VI, was born July 23, 2005, and came to LSU when he was two years old in 2007. At the time of his arrival at LSU, he weighed 320 pounds. His weight as of June 2010 is 460 pounds. He is expected to reach approximately 500-600 pounds at maturity; he will reach maturity at 5 ½ to 6 years of age. Mike was officially declared Mike VI at a ceremony held on September 14, 2007. He debuted in Tiger Stadium on the evening of the Florida vs. LSU football game on Saturday, October 6, 2007.

This was not to compare or criticize or discredit or disrespect Tony, the Tiger Truck Stop Tiger held hostage down in Grosse Tete, LA in a concrete cage right off Interstate 10. But, since I had just left Tony and was in Baton Rouge, I thought I would give Mike a visit......

@cloversweed - Oh, Mary. My heart aches so much for Tony. What a contrast between his hellish cage and the beautiful and natural surroundings that Mike VI so rightfully enjoys. I would definitely say that this is like the difference between heaven and hell. I wish so much for Tony to have the same kind of home, peaceful and natural. And please, don't apologize for your videos. We appreciate them so much, as well as your commentary. It comes straight from the heart.

Yes!! To compare and have mercy on Tony The Truck Stop Tiger in Gross Tete!!! I say it out loud!! THIS is how a Tiger should live!! Not in a concrete enclosure,without water,without stimulation,without enough to eat!! This Tiger is heaven. Tony is in hell living in Sandolin's prison with fumes and the highway all around for air! Excellent Mary! WELL DONE!!! One more shocking jolt into reality!!

@Suzan4B I agree. I was in AWE when I walked up to Mike's habitat. He really has a good like, as you said, "this tiger(mike) is in heaven. And did you it was just the very common sense, simple things that matter to a cat? Tony has none of that...

@Suzan4B I TOTALLY AGREE, if nothing comes out of the Aug 15 court date to DISMISS Sandbag's case where he fights to keep Tony..then SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG..and IF that case is not DISMISSED, then how could the HEARING set for Sept 15 to ORDER IMMEDIATE RELEASE of Tony make sense?
