The glich might be caused by the double doors. Sometimes the game will ignore the second door, so it just thinks there is a gap so zombies and skeletons can get in but not spiders. Also you could try puting loads of torches around the bed

Underground tunnel for the back entrance? Goes under the crafting area and comes up in front of it or have a little chamber (like a 3x3 minihouse so no one falls in the hole) somewhere in your house with a straight vertical shaft down to the path that leads inside the house and use a ladder to get up and down.

@dudemonkey731 you mean £1? That's the currency of our United Kingdom, it's called Pounds Sterling or "pounds" for short. I think the exchange rate is 1.6 so £1 would roughly equal $1.60 :)
