  • It's the way bike accelerate that freaks most people out first time, that's why you should always learn on a smallbike and not a mate's Thunderace or Busa.

  • Why no fairings, removed for learning purposes?

  • @ninjagrayfox yup! but they are back on now, my 3rd season riding

  • i took the fairings off mine too but they personally look and ride better with the fairings on

  • Good first bike. Too many squids get a GSXR1000 or the like and the first time they get into trouble they don't know what or how to react and become road kill. Besides that, you'll easily be able to sell that bike and upgrade when your skills are ready for something with more power...if you're into that. You can have plenty of fun just cruising and enjoying riding on that for years.

  • Excellent choice for a beginner bike. Anybody that sez it's a girls bike or some crap like that only insult others because that and Viagra is the only way they get it up. But that bike has good linear throttle, not jumpy like the GSX-R Series is. It's also powerful enough to keep you entertained longer then a 250cc like the Ninja would.

  • How tall are you ?

  • @slyzxx1 175cm which is 5'10"

  • rich kids :-/ wish someone would buy me a $10k bday present

  • @Jmorphew88 it was $4500 gotta save your cash bro

  • @Jmorphew88

These things are like 2500 if you find one used.

  • rich kids :-/

  • dont bother replyin to rhettly seems he deleted his account.. his daddy must of confiscated his internet privileges :P hahahah...

  • what's your height?

  • @redinkmars 175 cm which is i belive is 5'10

  • @qwikyking 5'7

  • This guy dosn't realize he's on a girl's bike.... so sad.

    hhhahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahhhhhhhhhhhhhhahahahahhaha

    owned bitch

  • @rhettly it's his first bike dumbass. I'm sure you're like 15 and think you can hop right on a BMW S 1000RR, right? Ya have fun getting your limbs torn off, you can't just jump on a sportbike that's meant for the track if you've never ridden before.

  • Kid has a girls bike hahahahhahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahhaha... bitch

  • @rhettly Someone needs to knock your teeth into your nose, douchebag.

  • @Shenanighandi

trust me bitchboy, unless you put on about 50 lbs you'de get steam rolled. Seen you bitch. now go cut your thighs like a good hipster fag

  • @rhettly Right right, I'm sure I would. No. And I'm not a hipster dipshit, why don't you grow the hell up. I'm 100% sure someone like you wouldn't talk to anyone like this in real life. And if you did someone probably would knock some sense into you. You're probably 14-15 years old huh?

  • Great starter bike, i got started on a Ninja 250 a couple of years ago.

  • don't be so fuckin intelligent you idiots, it's a great bike for amateurs. Its UNISEX bike :) Everyone of you ride a GSXR from the beggining??? :/

  • @rhettly hahah definitely! and how exactly is it a "girls" bike.. do bikes have gender restrictions? soo if my bike is a girl... then i'm straight? okay cool! so you can go ride your "guy" bike ;)

  • @rhettly hahaha its funny you say that, cause at the track it can keep up with alot of 600 gixxers, its not really about the bike, more of the rider, and yeah! this is my VERY first bike, i've NEVER ridden before what kind of bike do you have? i love haters :P

  • @qwikyking

    nice story young lady.

  • @qwikyking its funny how some guys get on utube judging u when they probably wish to hav that bike. i no i want that bike and i will be getting it soon hopefully :D

  • @flamo1020 NICE! its an amazing bike, you'll love it! great on insurance and $20 for 350kms with premium! all my friends driving trucks are a little jelous haha :P

  • @rhettly grow up you gayboy, a bike is a bike. You must be compensating for your tiny penis with all this talk about girl bikes

  • @rhettly It's a bike set up for novices and commuters. Why spend 3x as much just to put yourself in more risk? Really, this makes more sense on a day to day basis.

  • @rhettly it dosint really matter what anybody rides as long as they ride plus theses lil 500s are fun lil bikes

  • @rhettly plus put a 100lb woman on that bike dont be mad when that girls bike it keeping up with you and its his fist bike what do you want him to get a gsxr1000 a zx10? lol hater lol

  • @TheAwokenMind i'm able to buy my own to, i'm buying it off my dad, its technically his, its cheaper on insurance under his name, but thank you anyways for the compliment?

  • y does everyones insurance cost so must i got quoted from progressive for 84$ per year for a basic package, with no experience and 19 years old. i live in Minnesota BTW

  • @lukemich12 HAHA NICE! thats pretty decent! what kind of bike? the 500?

  • @lukemich12 I'm 27, have a squeaky clean hx, homeowner discount, safe driver discount, mult vehicle discount, and annual payer discount, and my bill for an 08 250 ninja is 400(liability only), and an 07 zx10r is 1600(full coverage) annually. You seriously need to check to see if you are actually covered, that is extremely low

  • @ConnollyJordan not too sure actually, last year i paid $700 under my dads name or somthing? and i've been quoted for around $1600 which sounds a little more reaslistic no cheaper than a car

  • sick man! i got mine last september the 2010 model. putting a custom exhaust and some electric blue underglow on it for this spring's riding season. you still got it?

  • Hey, whats the metal cage thing covering the crankshaft/engine called? Also, where can I get one? I think it's a good idea to have one especially if you're just starting out. Thanks

  • @Luis3e7 I got it custom fabricated by my dads friend, I would be willling to sell them to you depending were you are,

  • Hey, whats the metal cage thing covering the engine called?

  • @westeh I'd put the bars on as well, and I know how to ride. I'd rather know I won't destroy my entire bike then be a douche bag like you.

  • It's a nice gift from ya dady !

  • is this a good bike for a begginer rider. im turning 18 soon and i want to get a motorcycle. i have no riding experince and i am going to start working on getting my license but i was woundering is this a good bike to start off on or should i look into a 250cc or 500cc

  • @con3legend if you have no riding experiance, do a motorcycle safety course or somthing similar, in ontario we've got a few programs which they supply the bikes and you do all the emergency stopping, manuvers etc you need to know, its like $400, its a good investment, aslong as you know HOW the bike works, practice in your head, then bring it somewere to begin with were you wont hurt anyone

  • not bad.. i have an 05 gs500f that i picked up back in aug of this year...i'm getting ready to trade her for a 955i daytona...sweet little bike, i dont leave 3rd till 90 but i need more power haha

  • Nice bike. Do you still have it? I'm still looking for an upgrade from my CBR125R.

  • @cheezgrated yeah! its awesome!, i've done some spicing up a lil, now she's a lil racer ;) its a perfect bike up from a cbr125, i only pay $2000 a year HAHA...only$2000.....

  • only five more years..

  • i wish my dad would buy me a motorcycle, then we could go riding together haha

  • Looks like you are doing it the right way. I started with a GS500E (naked) and worked my way up to a Daytona 675 now.

Can't say I miss the GS, but it was a great first bike, easy to fix and fun to ride!

  • Nice bike. I've been riding and racing motocross for 10 years, but recently got on the street over a month ago.

  • @Dp908 Nice! what bike do you ride?

  • @qwikyking 09 Vulcan 900 classic.

  • Alot of people underestimate the 500s. I love mine. You should check out some of my videos.

  • lol good job buddy! Looked fun lol!

I'm scared for my first time lol. I'll be trying soon.

  • What hapened to the fairing?

  • @krizla4 i took it off while learning how to ride

  • wow...

that's a really good idea... i took the msf course but i still don't want to drop my bike.. (i'm getting a 250r really soon) but if i just take the fairing off while i still am practicing then i don't have to worry)

so.. a question.. do Fairings just bolt on and off or is it more complicated than that?

    thanks!

  • @gohawk08 well usually its fairly easy, jsut time consuming, but one consideration, if you dump it hard enough you could damage the stuff under the fairing (engine case, rad,) so maybe check into seeing how expensive it would be to get a welder make you some crash bars,

  • @qwikyking thanks! i think i'll look into some of the stuff you told me...

  • @qwikyking If someone needs a welder to make them "crash bars" they should not be even riding a bike. no insult intended...

  • @westeh so you wouldn't get a family friend who is a welder to make your 15year old son who has NEVER ridden anything and put them on a 500 $6000 bike?? my dad was just being smart so that i didn't cost him even more if i would have crashed it :P

  • @qwikyking.... at 16 I got a loan bought my own bike it was delivered the guy said "it's one down five up" I watched him drive out of the street I started it up then putted around in first for 20 minutes clicked it into second and the next day rode to work. So to answer your question " No " ...

  • How tall are you?

  • @Ryan2588 i'm 5'9"

  • What insurance do you use? I'm thinking about getting a 2002 r6 but can't find a fair price.

  • @shocker792 well my bike is a 500 non sport bike(under600cc's, 2 cylinder), an r6 is considered a sport bike(600cc, inline4), plus this bike has 42 something horses whereas the r6 has like 100 :P insurance will be through the roof for an r6

  • @qwikyking insurance is not much for that year bike, based on your record and how many years experience driving on the road not riding it would be 40-50ish a month 50 being max i have 49 state 2001 r6 and i pay only 26$ a month

  • wht year ?

  • @zINOVAIz its a 2008 the only thing thats changed year to year since 2004 is the colors on the F model

  • @kennit1000 whats your point? if everyone lived in fear of getting injured no one will ride. why be a killjoy? why view the video?

  • I was trying to figure out why it looked funny, then it struck me. The flarings are missing

  • @tandersn9 fairings

  • It's good to see a beginner wearing some proper gear. Don't get out of the habit and have fun!!

  • i just got one.. but dont no y it wont start.. it started once now i cant get it to start again .sinc i brought it home.. ???? help

  • Not sure where you live, but I always had to open the choke to get it to fire up. Even in summer...

  • Some bikes has to be in neutral gear to start or you need to pull the clutch at the same time when you start and check that the casoline "lever" is on position. ;D hope that helps...

  • same goes for my dad. he bought me my gs500F bike. In return i bought him a Boulevard 800.

  • hey man im thinking bout buying the 2009 model i was justw odnering how fast they go top speed becos me im exsperienced riderr and i want somthing with fair bitr speed so how fast it go?

  • @holdeguy i think its top speed is around 180 km/h but you wont ever need it unless you go to a racetrack ;P

  • @qwikyking nah all cool my dad thought that becos they r under lams learners that they might hav been held back in power abiitt thats all but i new they would waste a 500 motor.mightaswell just say buy 250 if gunna hold em back aye

  • @qwikyking wouldnt*

  • not bad you're first ride bro.. i just got myself an 06' ver. of this for insurance reasons.. lol otherwise i'd be getting a 600! Pop any wheelies yet? :P haha.. jk.. Can't wait for riding season though..

  • daaaaamm i wish i had this bike...

  • Yes.. they are dangerous, but I would rather live my life enjoying it, rather than being afraid of everything and doing nothing in the attempt to preserve it.

Even with that being said, if you take precautions on a motorcycle, drive intelligently, keep yourself in check, you'll avoid becoming a statistic anyway. Too many accidents occur from stupid riders, not wearing proper gear, thinking they're king shit because they drive a zillion miles an hour.

  • @kennit1000 i know how dangerous it is, I know lots of people who have been killed from it, but lots of stuff can kill you in life..=P

  • asap i find my video of my first ride, youll see me riding the same way you are. nice and slow. no insult.

  • Cool bike, I think you did pretty well for your first time.

  • song anyone? I was thinking of this bike for a first... what happened to the front fairings?

  • @Quagmire88 the song is "phenomenon - thousand foot krutch" and i took off the fairings incase i dropped it, also to put engine guard on it. but its a great bike.

  • good to see someone learning to ride and wearing the PROPER gear, Good job man, not like the other idiots learning to ride with no helmet or anything. Safe riding!

  • thanks, :) and i'm planning to get a new jacket and helmet, the ones i have right now dont fit properly

  • no stock or bar end mirrors?

  • yes there is i just took them off because i was scared to drop it

  • smart rider

  • Love that GS

  • thanks man , btw i love your vids =P

  • wow, u lucky son. gear looks cool but is that jacket really thick enough?

  • no not really i got that jacket from a friend for $75 i'm getting a new one soon

  • wish my dad could buy me one :|

  • it happened to me. my dad bought me a brand new 07 gs500f and i bought him a suzuki boulivard 800 with my perfect credit score.

  • so funny watching this,

cause my dad did the exact same thing for me 2 christmas' ago with the same bike in black and silver, took it to a parking lot and everything, less the pylons

  • NICE! how was the insurance? and hope you had fun! =P

  • i wonder how tht bike wud look streetfighter

  • actually i've seen a few they look pretty sick you could prolly find a pic on gstwins. com

  • if u find any pics pm me the link if u dont mind thanks

  • Ha , your father removed the fairings - smart

  • actually my dad thought it would be better with them on until he found out how expensive they were to replace and spent a fraction of the cost on crash bars

  • NOICE MARKUS =D

  • lucky! :D

  • wow mark your dad is nice if he bought u a bike XD

  • grreat video to

  • NICE MARK i'm jealous of your bike + the fact u got to ride it..outside silvercity, lol
